We are a family-owned brownstone with a spare, private, ground floor apartment. Hosts live upstairs but are mostly out and about. The neighborhood is friendly with great restaurants & coffee shops. A mile away from Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanical Gardens and just a few blocks away from the 2,3,4, and 5 trains (which you can take express to Manhattan).
The apartment is on the bottom floor of a family-owned brownstone, with it’s own private entrance. Host interaction can be as much or as little as guests prefer. Next to the fully-outfitted, open kitchen (stocked with cooking supplies), there is a spacious main area which has comfy, lounging furniture and a TV. In the front, situated next to the sunny windows is a big kitchen table to do work (or eat, of course). Both the bedroom and the bathroom are situated in the back, away from the noise of the street. The bedroom is calm and quiet and overlooks the terrace. The couch in the main area easily sleeps one (or even two), and there are spare sheets and pillows to make it up with.
Feel free to use the backyard. The garden is a work in progress (green thumbs welcome!), but there are places to sit out there, and even a fire pit and a grill which guests are welcome to use. The cellar floor has a washing machine and dryer should guests need it.
The apartment is used only for short-term rentals, so it is full of amenities and has minimal clutter.
We're flexible about check-in, and guests are welcome to leave their luggage at the apartment after check-out if their flight is later in the day.
As I mentioned, there is a private, street-level entrance to the apartment, which occupies it’s own floor in the building. The apartment is completely private and will be treated as the guest’s own. The door to the shared terrace is off of a hallway, which the whole house can access. The basement steps are also in this hallway, leading down to the cellar with washer and dryer.
Interaction with guests
We live right upstairs and are pretty much always available by cell phone.
Other things to note
There are extra towels and blankets in the bedroom closet, should you need them. Let me know if the temperature isn’t right, and feel free to open the windows, or adjust the valves on the radiators.
Please no smoking inside.
