Other things to note
Sarnia has much to offer from boating to golf to theatre and much more. Visit Tourism Sarnia-Lambton's website for all kinds of info and pictures. We also have a beautiful state of the art theatre attached to the Lambton Mall with fantastic sound and screen. From May 1 to October 31 you can park on city streets in Sarnia overnight just be sure you're on my side of the street (the other side is no parking) the rest of the year you can't park on the street from 2am until 5:30am.
We have few rules, simply respect the house and those who call it home full time too. If you park in the drive way please leave your car keys on the duck in the front lobby so that your car can be moved without disturbing you especially if you're parking someone in. I promise your car and your keys will be there in the morning. : - )
Dishes can be placed in the dishwasher and counters wiped down. You're in Canada so of course shoes are left at the front door on the rack or mats. If you're coming in late please bolt the door behind you and close door inside doors gently and avoid full volume discussions outside bedrooms. Be kind to the environment, don't waste water by running it when you aren't using it and don't stand in the doorway of outside doors running up heating or cooling energy bills. (Common sense stuff I'm sure you already practice).
I'm a professional, I own a small business called Tilting Planet Multimedia. We specialize in helping worthwhile but small and often underfunded charities and non-profits do world class promotions and fundraising. I'm a sound technician and cameraman myself. I own a 5 bedroom 110 year old Victorian home a couple of blocks from the waterfront in Sarnia, ON. I have for the past 23 years since I first bought my house rented rooms to friends and occasionally friends of friends. I fully understand the need for my roomers to take pride in the home they are in and to treat it with respect. I also understand my responsibility to them and the need for them to feel at home and maintain a comfortable home environment for them. I've been hosting now for about a year with airbnb and have had the remarkable opportunity to host wonderful interesting guests from all over the world and all walks of life. I feel richer for the experience. I enjoy hosting and hospitality and take pride in giving travellers a comfortable quality experience and plenty of privacy or if they prefer some interaction I do my best to be available to answer any questions and show off this beautiful hidden gem of a city I call home.
I myself take good care of the nice hotel rooms and more recently airbnb homes I find myself in monthly and have outstanding relationships with the hotels that I frequent and their respective staff members and have excellent reviews with airbnb hosts.
I'm a real tech head, I've always been a bit of a nerd with technology. My home has all of the extra's like excellent broadband, a wide selection of movies on our server available to guests, as well as other services such as Netflix, etc. I do love to travel myself and am excited about Airbnb. My brother Joel lives in Montreal and frequently uses Airbnb to rent out portions of his very unique home and has had good success. I am thankful for those who open their homes to travellers like myself and hope to offer a warm and accepting home to travellers myself.
