Villa of architectural merit, historical, surrounded by greenery, the historic center, behind Piazza Duomo. luxurious rooms with a view of the Sicilian garden and the typical terraces. All you need here, including the sea, is within walking distance.

The space

Characteristic of Sicilian historic villa: independent, luxurious, it dates back to 1700. Its use shall be exclusively for you. Despite being in the city center, the house is immersed in the green, with characteristic terraces typical of the old Sicilian houses. Guests will experience the feeling of living in a country house and not within the city. The house is located one step away from our beautiful and fragrant Mediterranean Sea at walking distance from a natural path called "timpaviva". My house is ideal for hosting two families in two totally separated and intimate areas, for a total of 12 people. Guests will have access to an indoor surface of 90 square meters at their exclusive use, equipped with important pieces of furniture that have made the history of Italian and international design, recognized all over the world for their elegance and comfort. The villa has an outer surface of 900 square meters. It consists of a large old garden with Mediterranean native vegetation, terraces and porches. On the large terrace, there is an area furnished for children with plenty of tables and chairs, where it is possible to dine comfortably surrounded by nature, during the relaxing stay. The kitchen is located outside the house and it is equipped with a barbecue and a Sicilian oven. The cars are kept and watched in villa 3. The town of Acireale is ideal and strategic to know the real Sicily, it is far away from the chaotic confusion of Catania. Catania is 10 minutes away (by car). Acireale is 20 minutes away from Taormina (by car), Siracusa and Ragusa are 30 minutes away, Mount Etna is 10 minutes away, Acitrezza and Acicastello 5 minutes away. The house is located at a few steps from the central Piazza Duomo (Acireale’s main square) and the ancient fish market, where it is possible to buy fish that you can cook at the dedicated barbecue, once you are back. Acireale, place with important historical past, is ideal for a holiday made of sea, Etna mountain, perfume and culture. Acireale stands by the sea, and I personally walk every morning along a 1500 mt ancient pedestrian street called the "Chiazzette". During the Summer, I go for a swim to the beach of Santa Maria La Scala. If requested I provide free bed for children (1 to 4 years) to be put in the master bedroom, a stroller for your children and a high chair specific for lunch. Internally, the house covers 110 square meters and it is totally independent. At your arrival, I will I give you the keys of my house in order for you to access independently. Whether you are a family with children looking for relax and tranquility or a group of friends looking for fun and culture to be found in the beautiful city of Acireale, our home is definitely the perfect accommodation.

Guest access

I will I give the keys to my house when you arrive. My guests will have access to the entire independent villa dedicated to them, park, garden, parking inside the villa up to 3 machines. The outer surface dedicated to you is 900 square meters. The surface of the inner house dedicated to you is 100 square meters.

Interaction with guests

I live in another place within the same villa. They are always ready to take action instantly to any request not violating your intimacy ever being totally independent.

Other things to note

My house is ideal because it is silent. My home to large aggregates relaxing intimate spaces. I think my house is a unique place because it is located in the city center with the sea within walking distance and Mount Etna in minutes. When you visitor will enter inside my house you will feel the sensation of being in a rural Sicilian residence.

"Unforgettable experience" is a bit of a cliche, but I've never stayed in a place like this, and never seen anything like it on Air BnB. Highly, highly recommended. The villa comes as advertised--a well kept, old, aristocratic villa in the middle of Acireale, close to all major sights near Mount Etna. Acireale itself is a wonderful small city that I wish I'd spent more time exploring. Carmela and family are delightful hosts who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. There are turtles in their garden! My eight year old loved it.

Carmela's place is very nice and is a historical trip by itself! The house is beautiful and has everything one needs for a vacation. Carmela and her family are incredibly friendly, made us feel at home the whole time and gave the most valuable tips to enjoy Acireale and Sicily. They were 100% available every day, helping to plan our trips or just talking about life :). On the next time we go to Sicily there is no other place I'd rather be!

We loved our stay in Carmela's beautiful home. Carmela and Vito were charming and very welcoming. We were greeted by their son Nico who was a fabulous host. He was very patient with our terrible attempts at Italian! He happily drove us to the beach when we arrived hot and exhausted, he gave us lots of tips on where to go and what to do both in Acireale and the surrounding area all of which were spot on. We loved the outdoor kitchen and BBQ and the beautiful terrace. The children loved exploring the garden and looking for tortoises. The house is a short walk from the lively fruit and fish market, which at night turns into a bar and fish restaurant, serving fantastic street food. There is a great bakers 30 seconds from the house and its a short walk to lots of bars and restaurants. It's worth walking to the park for the view and the ice cream and granita in the little cafe next to it. Nico recommended we visit Etna with 'Sicily Sensations' who were fantastic. We spent the day with Paulo and Carlo and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The beach in Acireale is lava stone (like most of Sicily) but there is a great swimming platform which is free to use and has a little cafe. It's a steep walk down the hill (worth it for the fantastic views) but there is a bus that runs to and from the beach. We also visited the beach at Pozzillo which is a short bus ride away but absolutely beautiful with lots of tiny bays ideal for snorkelling. We decided not to hire a car and although there is a decent bus service we could have explored the area more fully if we had. If you want a real taste of Sicilian life this is the place.

We are so thankful that this lovely family shared their wonderful home with us. When you stay with Carmela, Vito and Nino, you get something that is quite uniqe. You experience the heart of Sicily, the art, the culture and the hearthfelt hospitality. I was deaply impressed by Vito's designs and art and Carmela's warmth. And Nino will forever stay in my mind as one of the friendliest persons I've ever met. You can totaly trust that whatever advice he give you, being the best restaurant, the best swimspot or the best Etna tour (Paolo and Sicilia sensations by the way), you will be more than satisfied. Hope to see them all again soon.

We enjoyed the stay at Carmela's place very much, especially the breakfasts at the open terrace and the hospitality of the family. We concluded though that the spiral staircase to the bedrooms can be difficult for someone partly disabled. Also wifi connection was quite intermittent.

Response from Carmela:
Thank you very much for your 5-stars opinion. We spent beautiful moments together. You and your friends were special to us. We have solved the problem with the internet connection: the instability was just due to temporary works on the public line. As for partly disabled people, we have another room on the ground floor that can certainly be used by people who have troubles with stairs. We really are a family!

Our host was incredibly kind and hospitable. Her home was beautiful, better than what I could have ever imagined. It was colorful and clean and the ocean near by. Her family was so kind and told us all the great spots to visit. I can't wait to go back and visit. My experience there was memorable!
