Place was cute and pleasant. Price felt a wee bit high, but nothing outrageous and much much nicer than staying in a motel. The food truck Indigo's located a few hundred feet away had amazing food. So close to the beautiful Blue River. Glad we got to stay here. We have to come back and stay longer than 1 night next time around.

We arrived at check in time 4:00 and we were told the cabin was reserved for another group. We waited while Chris made several calls to book the other family at another place although they hadn't checked in yet. He didn't hide the fact that they were getting a significant upgrade but we were the ones losing our time in the office while he called around to rebook the other party. He never apologized to us, but left a very apologetic letter for the other family on the cabin door in case they arrived after us. The cabin(s) are listed on the Airbnb site but they actually have their own website for McKenzie River Mountain Resort. Maybe that's why it was double booked. The king size bed is very uncomfortable. It's got a huge lump in the middle and it so soft. For the price it costs per night they could make the conditions a little nicer. There are only 2 chairs at the dining table but it sleeps 6? The blinds are crappy and there is need for a coat of paint. I paid in full on the website but was asked at check in for my credit card in case anything was missing from the cabin. I got home to a charge of 169$ which was reversed when I brought it to Chris' attention. I cannot recommend this place.

The cabin is definitely not rustic. It has an adequate kitchen, bathroom, and comfortable furniture. It is more like a hotel room separate from the lodge. If you are looking for a well kept cabin near water and trails this would be great. The neighbors are not far away as there are several cabins around the resort.

We stayed in unit #4. It was clean, updated bathroom, comfortable living rm and comfortable king bed, small kitchen with refrigerator, stove, sink and minimum pans and utensils. Very quiet location next to Blue River which is a safer river for children than the much faster McKenzie River. We were there for the attractions and to watch our youngest grandson while our children rode The McKenzie River Bike Trail. This is not like the traditional personally owned Airbnb with pantry/cleaning supplies. This is more like a motel with just essentials. If you plan on staying and cooking bring everything you need like Salt/pepper, foil, Saran etc. Firepit in front but no firewood and two grills but we didn't have briquettes. AC in front room and one fan.

Although the Ranger house is old, it still needs updating, the location is close to the trails that we wanted to hike.

Area was quiet and close to the river. It was close to cougar springs which was perfect for our visit. The beds were fine and bathroom was nice. The kitchen could use a few more pots and pans and such.

About Chris

My family and I bought an old ranger station and remodeled it into a cozy resort! During the week I stay fairly busy with the resort, but when I can I like to go to Terwilliger Hot Springs or Sahalie Falls and Mountain Bike on the McKenzie River Trail. Tennis and Skiing are also some of my hobbies. I also enjoy spending time in Eugene and Bend.
