The space
Outside your door: a private fire pit, picnic table, and a clean, private outhouse just 20 seconds away.

Built in 2002, this is one of Ontario’s first straw bale buildings — handcrafted with care from natural, breathable materials. Its rounded corners and deep window sills feel like something from the desert Southwest — right here in Southern Ontario.

Explore trails, visit the chickens and sheep, or spend your day resting under the trees.

Wood for campfires can be purchased for $10 bag at the farm office.

Wood for indoor cabin heat is provided.

Neighbourhood highlights

On one side of the cabin is a pristine provincially-protected cedar forest wetland. On the other side are rolling hills sprinkled with gorgeous veggie fields, hedgerows, and pastureland.
We are at the headwaters of the Credit River. At the top of the property, you can see for miles. Trails connect all the wonders of the property - glorious sunsets, forest walks, wide open fields, nature exploration, foraging, wildlife sightings, and a creek that runs year-round in the upland forest at the back of the property.

Where I went to school: School of Hands-On Learning
My work: farming, teaching, community food projects
I’m a regenerative farmer, a teacher, and a believer in the power of community. One of my favourite things about travelling is being open to unique and often-unplanned experiences and making connections with people. Simple things like a shared smile with a passing stranger, or discovering a unique salsa at a roadside taco stand.
