Welcome to the House of Dreams, where we foster community amongst travellers and local entrepreneurs alike. Your room is a haven for rest, perfect for digital nomads or adventurers. The common spaces of the house host community and growth-focused events. We are happy to welcome you into the vibe of connection, synchronicity, curiosity, and collaboration! An easy ride from the airport, 10 mins to downtown Vancouver. Great wifi, and a friendly, chilled out atmosphere. LGBTQ2S+ friendly!

The space

This home was originally built in 1947 and little has altered since then - except for some funky new paint I've lavished on the walls. Your room has its own sink and vanity - so unusual! Everyone that comes into this home feels its peace, unique beauty, and warmth.

The house was chosen by Rebecca for its large meeting spaces, which she uses regularly for group meetings and events. She has named it the House of Dreams, as it is created to be a safe space for dreams to be nourished and brought closer to being made real. It is a space that is supportive to solopreneurs, artists, non-profit groups, teachers, dancers, and more! You are welcome to put your business info on the bulletin boards in the guest lounge - who knows what connections you might make!

The house cats Gandalf and Radagast will eagerly show you to your room. Two lovebirds - Mango and Kiwi - kindly let us all know when the sun has come up.

There are three airbnb rooms in this house, and my family of two teenaged boys and my partner and I live in the rest of the space. Your bathroom is shared with other airbnb guests, and I have a shower schedule for guests to communicate with each other so that everyone can be ensured a smooth morning.

If you are curious to know whether any group events will be held at the house during your stay, check in with Rebecca! Many of them might have room for you to attend, and she can provide details to you.

Guest access

The kitchen is a busy place, and you're welcome to prepare snacks in it. Everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves, and there is a dishwasher you are welcome to use. It is a homey kitchen rather than a show kitchen! We have a lounge set up just for airbnb guests by the front entrance. Please make yourself at home!

Interaction with guests

I am interested in you and would love to be a support for you as you explore my beautiful city. I am available for you to ask questions or ask advice. I will be present in the home as well during your stay. Occasionally I get overloaded with work or travel and may not be as available for you as I'd like to be - but if you message me on the airbnb app I will do my best to help you out!

Other things to note

There are occasional events in the house, and other occupants as well, so please be aware that all spaces outside of your bedroom are shared.

Rebecca was a kind, friendly, and helpful host who communicated perfectly! The bed was soooo comfortable, the room very nice and roomy, the home had such a wonderful and welcoming energy! We woke to jazz music playing in the main room. So glad to have stayed here! It's also on the main Granville St. bus route which is super handy - but far enough out of the downtown area that it's not terribly noisy :)

A great first time experience using Airbnb. The hosts were very welcoming and the room and facilities were just as described. 10-15min bus ride to the city made this a very convenient location to explore downtown Vancouver.

I lived in Sri Lanka for 7 years, founding and running a school for young adults, and know what it is like to be a visitor in a foreign country. Good hospitality makes all the difference for being able to relax and enjoy yourself in a strange location.

My house is an experiment in community-building and I like to share it with digital nomads and exploring adventurers. My boyfriend Oota helps me with housework and in supporting our Airbnb friends when they are here.

I'm a professional coach, and I do part-time work for the Red Cross in their education programs. My home is the base of operations for many projects and groups of people who gather to make the world better through their own unique work. My large gathering rooms are rented out for workshops, meetings, and events hosted by local entrepreneurs and visiting guests.

My home is made for hospitality, connection, growth, safety, and healing!
