The space
You are invited to step back in time to a more simple way of life. However, unlike log cabins a hundred years ago, you'll find running water, an equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a claw-foot tub.

Reminiscent of Abraham Lincoln's birthplace, this hand-hewn log cabin dates back to the early 1800's. The log cabin was originally built in Northern Indiana by pioneer settlers from Pennsylvania. Over the years, the logs were covered up with clapboard siding and this preserved them for years.

In 1970, another pastor bought the logs and rebuilt it in its present location in Northern Newaygo County. The log portion of the cabin has a great room with two sleeping rooms upstairs. In 1988, he added an addition which includes a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/dining room. In 1994, we bought the cabin and have enjoyed many summers relaxing and enjoying the peace and solitude.

The queen-sized bed is on the main floor bedroom and there are four beds upstairs - (one full size bed, one twin beds and two super-single beds). The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, an oven, stove, and microwave.

FYI: This cabin is about one hour from Lake Michigan and Ludington State Park has a beautiful clean beach to spend a day. There is a great place to rent kayaks and canoes about 14 miles north of the cabin at Baldwin Canoe Rental.

My wife and I live on a small dairy goat farm in peaceful rural West Michigan where we also offer goat yoga and farm yoga classes. We try to be as close to our food source as possible with a big garden with a variety of fruits and vegetables. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, currently the largest city in the world and then moved to the U.S. for college. After marrying a girl from West Michigan, we raised our four children and built this farmhouse in 2003.
