Hale Alani, 3 bed/1 bath, comfortable home. Kawaihae is between Kona & Waimea (aka Kamuela). Spectacular view of the ocean and coastline. Less than a 5 minute drive, but not walkable, to the Big Island's best white sand beaches. Close to restaurants etc. Tropical decor. Very relaxing.

Very hot with no curtains and AC only in living room, my parents and I had to leave immediately after arriving due to extreme heat. Not so nice after a whole day of driving. Remained hot the entire time in bedrooms, even at night with fans on and windows open. Right next to highw…

Response from Rachel:
I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I really don't think the heat and the road noise warrant a 1-star review. If you were so dissatisfied that you wanted to move to a different place, I would have happily given you a refund. If you wanted to close everything up so that it was dark and cool you could have stayed at one of the hotels down the road for double or triple the price. I will review my language to be sure that I am not promising something that isn't there. I do advertise the house as "vintage" and mention in the ad that the road noise is a nuisance to some. When I am there I don't use the AC as I would rather feel the wind through the windows. I typically relax on the patio outside or in the hammock anyway. I am not in the habit of leaving the AC on for guests before they arrive since electricity prices in Hawaii are the highest in the nation and many guests, like myself, don't prefer to use it anyway. In fact, I used to charge an extra daily rate for using the AC but eliminated it since it was difficult to manage. I hope you enjoyed exploring Hawaii anyway even if you did not enjoy my house.

I imagine this place will be difficult to book so book now! The value is tremendous due to it's location, size and price. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to book this place. It was nearly perfect.

We were comfortable at this house, except that during the day the weather was hot but air conditioner is only in the living room. It is an old house, so there is wear and tare. It is comfortable and clean. Great outdoor space. It’s next to the main road, but noise did not bother …

We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at Rachel’s cute beach house. The ocean view is gorgeous and it’s just minutes away from my favorite beach Hapuna. She is more then accommodating, The house is stocked with everything you need. Definitely recommend!!

Very well cleaned and plenty of sleeping space for everyone. Space is a little dated but the value is very good. Very close to Spencer Beach and Hapuna Beach.
