Geoff's place is situated in a very pretty and quiet estate, around 45 minutes walk from town. It's a lovely walk along the waterfront to the centre of town, and nothing in town is more than a 10 minute taxi away. The apartment was bright and clean, and Paula made us feel very w…
A terrible experience from start to finish. When we arrived we noticed that there was no WIFI as advertised, we were told that unfortunately the add was misleading and there was no WIFI and we received an apology. Very annoying! The bedroom TV's were there however they were n…
Response from Geoff:
The worst guests ever. Should not be allowed to continue using Airbnb This is the letter I wrote to Airbnb which was completely ignored I accepted a reservation for one guest which the guest changed after booking to 2. The unregistered guest arrived at the property first and insisted on having 2 sets of keys without paying a deposit for the extra set. My co host trustingly obliged and the guest expressed satisfaction with the apartment and parking availability. I am still uncertain how many guests are staying in the apartment but it appears from reports that there is a lot of activity. I received a number of messages regarding wifi which I do not claim to provide. It would appear that despite wifi being cancelled in the amenities the network name continued to appear in the guest handbook. I dont feel I can be held responsible for a weakness in the airbnb system. At this point the guest launched into a tirade of threats from mild to bordering on aggressive. (see dialogue in airbnb system. After attemting in several hours to resolve the situation I resorted to contacting airbnb by phone and e mail as did the guest and my co host without success. At this point I was very concerned for the safety of my co host and the security of my apartment which is valued at 175 000 pounds. The guest appeared to want to cancel his booking and I tried to help to find alternatives. This was rejected and the guest seemed to imply he would stay and seek a full refund. In a desperate attempt to ensure no damage was caused to the apartment I offered a gesture of good will of 50 pounds and no response was received. At this point my co host and I discussed getting the police involved but felt that this would further antagonise the guest
I have lived and travelled extensively. I love peer to peer experiences which is why I decided to become a host after many very enjoyable experiences being a guest. My ambition is to make my guest experiences equally enjoyable. Welcome!
