Joya del Mar is a beachfront home in Maya Beach, with a great location on the Placencia Peninsula. When you rent the whole property, you not only have a comfortable 1-bedroom main residence, but two additional private spaces with their own outdoor entrances. So it's great for three couples traveling together, or for families with older kids who can be on their own overnight. Use the full kitchen and living room of the main residence when you want to be together, but enjoy your privacy overnight.

The space
The Main Residence has a large king bedroom, living room, full kitchen, and balcony. The smaller Upper Suite has a queen bedroom, bathroom, small living room, small kitchenette and a large balcony as well. The Junior Room is simple and small – a queen sleeping space with a basic kitchenette and its own bathroom.
Having separate entrances and with open railings, the Upper Suite is not suitable for kids but it's perfect older children or adults.

Guest access
Your reservation includes all three units, giving you complete privacy and full use of the whole property. Enjoy direct access to the beach during the day, then unwind in your own private space at night with separate entrances for everyone.

Other things to note
Sometimes we are asked whether the three separate units can be rented individually. And the answer is, sometimes yes!

If you have fewer than 6 people, we may be able to do a combination of just the Main Residence and Upper suite. We would then offer the Junior Room to a third party as a standalone room.

If you are traveling alone or as a couple, you can check with us about the possibility of renting just one of the three units (either the Main Residence, the Upper Suite, or the Junior Room). In that case, there would be other guests sharing the property and using the other units.

Maya Beach is a peaceful, easygoing community on the Placencia Peninsula, known for its long stretch of natural shoreline, great restaurants, and relaxed beach bars. It’s an ideal base for exploring Belize — head inland for jungle and ruins tours, or stay coastal for snorkeling, diving, and fishing. Placencia Village is about 8 miles south, with Seine Bight just 4 miles away, so you’re close to more dining and local culture whenever you want it.

I am marine biologist and love nature. Originally from Austria we traveled a lot and lived in different countries but somehow Belize doesn't let us go :-) We, my wife Simone and I, live in Maya Beach. For years we have now been working as property managers for several properties in the area. We love diving, dining out and a cold beer on our dock overlooking the beautiful canal just steps away from the Placencia lagoon. We are very much looking forward to hosting you in the small country of Belize.
