FINDING LOCAL MUSIC & EVENTS
(Airbnb won't allow web links so we have shown the words you need to type into a search engine using "".)
There are two pubs in Balloch that offer live music, you can check on their sites: "stonegate inns" then put "balloch" into 'town'.
Further afield (you need a car) is 'Pub of the Year 1705' - The "Drovers Inn at Inverarnan" at the north end of the loch or, on the east side of the loch, "The Oak Tree at Balmaha".
There are two main events listing magazines for Glasgow:
"the list glasgow"
"the skinny" which tends to list more informal free events

This cottage was awesome! We absolutely loved it, Nolwenn gave us a thorough briefing and suggestions/advice which we greatly appreciated. We walked all over Balloch from the place and enjoyed the area thoroughly. Amenities were close by too. Highly recommended! Thanks Nolwenn and Michael, you have a charming and cosy home away from home. Janis and Rick

Good location, easy to find after very good instruction given by the host. Unfortunately our stay was not completely satisfactory due to smell issues of the linen and towels, we were not sure if it was due to the humidity or other reasons, but it did not make our sleep comfortable. We have only just communicated it to the hosts as during our stay there, we were hiking all day and did not want to disturb them late in the evening. If you don't know the place there is a booklet and many information put together by the host to help you with what the area has to offer. There are boat tours just in the corner from the cottage as well as water sport activities.

Response from Michael & Nolwenn:
Karolina, we were very sorry to read about the linen. We would happily have changed all the linen and towels at any time of day, rather that you not enjoying your stay. We have checked all the linen and cannot notice a smell so must put this down to a one-off. Again, we are sorry your stay was not as you hoped, and indeed as we usually provide, and hope it will not put you off returning.

Such a perfect place from which to explore Loch Lomond. A cosy lovely little home from home. Very comfortable and everything you need. Really convenient for Balloch train station and the town is a really short walk away. Michael was a brilliant host, super helpful and even met me at the station to make sure I found my way. I can't wait to go back!

We had a great stay with Michael and Nolwenn. Their place is in a great location for exploring Loch Lomond and the Highlands too. Their place is within easy walking distance of the train station, a large supermarket and the Loch itself. Nolwenn was incredibly welcoming, giving plenty of suggestions of things to do, places to eat etc in the local area. The cabin was very clean and incredibly well appointed, with everything you could need from a fully stocked kitchen with tea bags, to an international and USB socket. We also really appreciated the welcome gift! Thank you for a great stay.

The location of the cottage was perfect for exploring the south of Loch Lomond. It felt secluded but was a 5 minute walk to the Loch ferry boats and 10 minute walk to the shopping area at Loch Lomond. The cottage was perfect for 2 people with everything you could need provided.

Micheal was a perfect host. We hiked, biked, visited a whisky distillery, the aquarium, and made good use of the kitchen to make home made food with local produce from the Co-op, located just around the corner from the airbnb. The house met all of our expectations and then some, we enjoyed our stay immensely.
