Olivier's place is a stunning home and they are a very welcoming family. Greeted us with coffee or a Belgian beer and jumped right into discussing the amazing history of the surrounding area. We were there to visit the Canadian WWI memorials and battle sites and Olivier was an amazing guide/ help about all of the different places to see, very knowledgable. The room was big, clean and cozy with easy access to all the necessary amenities. I would 110% recommend Olivier's home.

Olivier is very knowledgeable about the local history and WW1. He was a great help with us finding many out of the way monuments and memorials.

We had a great time staying with Oli and his family. We were welcomed with open arms from the moment we arrived, and felt very much at home throughout our stay. Oli went above and beyond by providing us a tour of the area and sharing his knowledge regarding local WWI history. The room is comfortable with a beautiful view to wake up to, and the bathroom very modern with a great shower! Would definitely recommend staying here, and would rebook if ever in the area again.

I was a return visitor to Ollie's Airbnb for the centenary commemoration ceremony for the Battle of Passchendaele (1917). I enjoyed my stay as previously reviewed and highly recommend Ollie's Airbnb as a base for guests visiting Belgian Flanders and those researching their ancestors' roles in the Great War ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) as I was. Thanks again Ollie!

Ollie's Airbnb is a great place to stay when visiting Belgian Flanders. The accommodation is very enjoyable, with a large comfortable bed and bedroom and a modern bathroom. Ollie and his family are a wonderful company and Ollie has great knowledge of the local area and points of interest, particularly about sites significant in the Great War ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). I plan to return to Ollie's Airbnb as I have a lot more to see around Ypres. Thanks for your hospitality and the benefit of your great local knowledge, Ollie!

Olivier User ProfileOlivier is a superhost.

Since people ask me what i do...here's a short description :
I'm a professional fireman in the lovely city of Ghent,
when i'm not at the fire station you can find me in the garage behind the house restoring old cars, especially 2CV's, and when i'm not in the garage then i am probably driving around Europe... in one of my 2cv's! Can you pass the 2CV gearshift-test and drive the car yourself ? ;-))
My wife Mieke is working in a school so she's around the house during school-holidays and weekends.
Also we are cycling and hiking enthusiasts and still discover secret parts in our beautiful region that we like to share with other people... In fact, we are in love with the Westhoek...a love that is too big to keep for ourself!!
