Writing a rebuttal against a guest is a challenging thing, as I have NEVER had to do this before.
In the simplest terms, we have never experienced this level of disrespect from guests in the 3 years I have been a badged host on Airbnb.
The ONLY reason I checked the camera
was our neighbor called and said that when they drove by they saw people arriving with a dog, and knew it was against our policy.
When I pulled up the front yard camera to confirm this, I saw nothing, I pulled up the side yard camera, and saw a VERY LARGE black dog.
( and as a side note, Julian and guests had taken my dining room table outside to dine on)
I immediately contacted Airbnb, as we carry a strict no animal policy.
Love love love animals, but because of the nature of the property being oriented around health and wellness, and having personal family members with extremely bad allergies, hence the no pet policy.
Airbnb contacted Julian several times via phone and email, beginning around 5:30pm, with no answer. We also contacted Julian via phone, no answer.
Finally with going back and forth with Airbnb, they discussed all options with us, one being cancel the reservation and have guests vacate.
Called Julian around 9:50pm and he finally answered his phone.
Julian stated he was sorry, they weren't aware of the policy of no animals. Even though, the first thing we do before accepting a request, is inform guests in our Airbnb communication, of the no pet policy.
It is also stated clearly on our Airbnb profile, and in the new guests arrival paperwork.
His response when I asked him if he read the policies, was "we just booked this last minute, didn't have time to read all the paperwork" .
Which, I found peculiar, as Julian boasts of his profession as an attorney " in a big firm" in his Airbnb profile, and in my personal experience, attorneys in general, are very aware of things they are signing and vouching for.
Julian then proceeded to say, "you're going to ask us to leave with our 1 year old baby sleeping and no where to go, at 10 at night?" And then, proceeded to offer up, "we will put the dog in the car to sleep, we will even move the car off the property if you'd like."
I was more than fair in allowing them to stay, and check out in the morning.
Julian's accusations of me watching his group bathe NUDE, is preposterous, and furthermore, perverted and a personal slandering of my character.
And I won't go into my personal thoughts of what it would mean, if Julians statement were true about me, "watching them bathe nude," with elementary aged children on property.
Never asked Julian to put their dog in the car in a heat wave.
And monies not returned, simply because the reservation was cancelled due to the blatant disregard for our policy, and we carry a strict cancellation policy.
Julian also had 8 guests on property and said he would have 6.
On a side note, Julian and guests, covered all cameras on the property, removed some very valuable crystals from the house, and scattered them all over the property.
And to top it all off, have proceeded to slander Between Two Pines on Instagram and (Hidden by Airbnb) .
A very unfortunate and sad situation, that could have been completely avoided if Julian would have simply obliged by the policies he signed and read in the first place.
