Enjoy a beautiful, bright home with large garden, close to the main town of Kingscote and a few minutes walk from Brownlow beach. There is free, fast WIFI, 50" flatscreen TV, Netflix, kitchen, laundry and all amenities.

The space
Nepean Bay Stay was originally a small fisherman's shack built in the 1950's. In the 70's and 80's it was rented out as holiday accommodation and grandly named 'Nepean Bay Lodge'. Since buying the property in 2013 we have modified and extended it to become a bright, open and comfortable home.

Guest access
The main building and gardens.

Other things to note
Children
Unfortunately, the property has not been designed to accommodate young children. We cannot accept requests for stay for children under 12.

Amenities
It is a 5 minute drive into Kingscote or 30 minute walk along the seaside path (turn left at the beach).

Swimming
I would recommend the Yacht club, which is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk towards Kingscote, the salt water swimming pool in Kingscote (best at high tide), or a 20 minute drive to Emu Bay which is the premiere swimming beach on the island.
Other great beaches for swimming include Stokes Bay, Middle River beach, Vivonne Bay, Hanson Bay, Island Beach and Antechamber Bay.
You can swim on Brownlow beach, but it is very shallow - a few inches - and as warm as a hot bath during the summer :)

Location

Brownlow Ki, South Australia, Australia

Brownlow is a very small seaside village, 2.5km from Kingscote, the main town. It is not famous, but the beach has its own unique beauty, with the resident pelicans, swans and seagulls, funny little crabs (they are as big as the tip of your thumb, you should be able to find them at high tide in the last few centimetres of water, where they will try to pinch you if you poke at them!). The beach is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.
Brownlow was 'laid out' as a proper town, you will find The Parade on the seafront, 1st Street, 2nd Street and your own 3rd street, laid out in grid-form. It just never really took off, and has remained quiet and peaceful, which is the way we like it :)
Just down the road, Kingscote is the main town of the island and has all amenities, including shops, banks, restaurants, cafes and petrol stations. There are also two art galleries, a museum, a winery, a pelican show every day at 5pm, the old jetties, Reeves Point the original landing sight for the european settlers, and the original cemetery (which is worth a visit to remember how difficult and lonely it was back then for the settlers and their families).
As well as all the shops in Kingscote, close by is Bay of Shoals winery, the KI brewery, Kangaroo Island Spirits, Kangaroo Island Sheep Dairy, Emu Bay Lavendar Farm, and plenty of other places to see.
