Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
Nestled between Valhalla & Kokanee Provincial parks, Driftwood is ideally located mere steps from Slocan Lake beach & boat launch & Slocan River. There are plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, mtn biking, boating, swimming, sport climbing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, and snowmobiling.
Our Airbnb is permitted and licensed in the Village of Slocan: Business license #2404

The space
This beautifully appointed and immaculate house, which overlooks the lake, contains artwork from local Kootenay artists. There are two bedrooms, a spacious and open living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a laundry area. Outside, there is a BBQ, picnic table, and benches. There are also lounge chairs and outdoor dining furniture available. The view from the dining room is so captivating that we decided against having a TV, so BYO viewing device. While our license limits us to five people, the ideal guest configuration is either 1 or 2 couples or 2-3 single people. The space is not suitable for children.

Guest access
You will have full access to the house, including Wi-Fi. There is plenty of on-site parking.

Our home is meant for short term stays. We do not accept requests for stays over 2 weeks, nor for guests without good, previous Airbnb reviews.

What you can expect from us:
* Deep cleaning with special attention paid to high touch surfaces such as door handles, keypad, taps, appliances, counters.
*Linens & towels washed in hot water.
*Liquid hand soap at both sinks and paper towel for hand drying.
*Extra hand & tea towels for frequent changing for longer stays.
Special note:
Bliss Bakery & Bistro right in the heart of Slocan is open for baked goods and great coffee.
The Legion serves delicious meals on Friday & Sunday nights.
The Lobby Grill at the Slocan City Hotel has casual dining.

Other things to note
The mornings & late afternoons are generally calmest on the lake for boating. For those who enjoy short walks, there is a beautiful waterfall less than ten minutes' walk from the house. For adrenaline junkies, there are bolted climbs 300 metres away or mountain bikes trails 1-7 kilometres away. We have a canoe and 4 kayaks to rent separately. The canoe is $30.00 (for the duration of your stay) and the kayaks are $25.00 each (for the duration of your stay). Life jackets and paddles are provided. Let me know if you would like to have them available.
We also have bikes for our guests' use free of charge. Bring your own helmet! For those interested in long easy bike rides, there is access to a 50km rail grade along the beautiful Slocan River right outside our back door.
There is great back-country sled skiing access in Slocan and nearby in the Valhallas and groomed cross-country ski trails on the rail grade.
As stated previously, there is no TV, so bring your laptop or Ipad, if you have one. Additionally, we do not have a microwave.

Driftwood is ideally located at the mouth of the Slocan River by the lake. It has been declared, "The best house in Slocan" by locals and visitors alike because of this. It is literally steps away from both the lake and river. There are hiking trails nearby, and it is the gateway to Valhalla Park. Slocan Village has a well-stocked grocery store, café, and a restaurant within walking distance.

Our family is very active outdoors. We love skiing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and exploring. The Slocan Valley is the perfect place for all these activities.
