Dog-friendly home built in 2010 on a peaceful and remote location that overlooks Norris Lake (just 35 minutes north of Knoxville), with a view to the Cumberland Mountains. Sleeps 5 who are seeking peace, quiet, and tranquility. We just added a dock for guest use and it a shared area with our sister property. **Dock is not in water during winter months**

The space
The home was designed to be low maintenance, so it has Trex decking on the outside and colored concrete floors on the inside (making it very easy to sweep and clean). There is full heat-and-air, but there are also powerful ceiling fans in every room - minimizing the need for either. Two bedrooms (with queen beds); two bathrooms (with 42" showers); full kitchen with all necessary cooking accessories; screened-in-porch; long deck; attached dog-run with door pass-throughs (sorry, no cats permitted); WiFi; 43" flat-screen TV with Netflix installed, and a DVD player with discs.

Guest access
This is a private home that is used primarily for several weeks in the summer, so you would have full access to the entire space during your stay. The ground immediately in front of the house remains wild, but there is a path that leads directly to the water (and we've just cleared a section right before the water and equipped it with 4 chairs, picnic table, a dock and a kayak!). The shoreline is rocky, so water shoes are helpful. We also have several "noodles" (along with a couple of inflatable tubes) for your enjoyment - to aid in floating in the lake. This is a shared area with our sister property down the street.

Other things to note
When the TVA began in the 1930's, the engineers mapped-out where they believed the loveliest spot in the whole system would be once all the dams were built, and they built the cabins to house themselves there - and this home is on that same street. Which means it's a little remote - and cell service doesn't make it all the way to the house. Also, the roads are curvy, so it's recommended that you initially arrive in daylight hours (until you're more familiar with the area), as there are no streetlights nearby.

Sequoyah Marina (.net) is less than a mile away, offering boat and jet-ski rentals from Memorial Day to Labor Day, docking slips, and a full restaurant. Anderson County Park (.com) is a couple miles in one direction, with the historic town of Norris (as well as the wonderful Museum of Appalachia) just a couple miles the other way. The street itself has minimal traffic, is very quiet and peaceful, and encompasses a "loop road" along the water that is perfect for walking or jogging (it is 300' short of a mile in circumference). The loudest thing you'll likely hear (other than the occasional sound of jet-skis during the height of the season) will be the sound of cicadas at night.

I've had the pleasure of working-for or volunteering-with Habitat for Humanity since Hurricane Katrina. Since then, I've led teams to a dozen countries, and have even lived internationally for a couple years. For some time now it's been a dream of mine to run a small inn, and to greet people from many countries and different backgrounds on a regular basis. And with my travel experience (and attention to detail), I hope to help make your stay memorable.
