The farmhouse, La Peyrardiere, is centrally located to explore nearby St. Tropez, Cannes, Aix-en-Provence, Nice and many other Provencal and Côte d'Azur towns and villages! Originally built in 1780, La Peyrardiere still retains many of its original features, yet has been recently renovated to the highest standard. The farmhouse is full of charm with stone walls, high ceilings and chic antique furnishings, beautiful gardens with a pool, surrounded by vineyards.

The space

La Peyrardiere is surrounded by vineyards on 3 sides giving it a private and peaceful feeling. It is a tranquil escape with quintessential French atmosphere. The farmhouse is in a perfect location which allows us day trips to many of the special towns in Provence/Côte d'Azur/French Riviera.

This sunny farmhouse is peaceful and quiet, with magnificent views of mountains. The beautiful gardens invite you to lounge by the salt-water pool, relax in the pool house, play boules in the boules court or enjoy the view from the back covered terrace. A rare period pigeonnier (pigeon house) and wheat threshing floor add to the character of the gardens. The pool is fitted with an alarm system and secure pool cover, but young children must be supervised at all times when the pool is uncovered.

Ground floor:
Large fully equipped chef's kitchen features a stunning custom 60cm brass and iron Godin gas-range with wood-fire oven, eat-in dining for 8, air conditioner. Large salon/living room with exposed oak beams, fireplace, opening onto front and back terraces, with large satellite TV and broadband wi-fi. Dining room (seating 8) with oak beams and opening onto front patio. Office opening onto the back terrace with French doors. Powder room, washer and dryer (unusual for this area!) Very large covered terrace with built-in gas grill and dining table for 8.

1st FLOOR: Bedroom 1: Very large master bedroom (king-size bed) with cathedral ceilings with exposed oak beams, stone walls, and magnificent views to front and back, en-suite bathroom with claw foot bath and walk-in shower, dressing room, air conditioner. Bedroom 2: double bedroom (queen bed) with private entrance to master family bathroom. Lovely views. Bedroom 3: (15m2) ensuite double bedroom with lovely views, air conditioner. Bedroom 4: double bedroom (two twin beds) with lovely views. Shares large family bathroom with bath with Bedroom 3.

2nd FLOOR: Bedroom 5: (30m2) very large double bedroom (king-size bed) featuring exposed stone walls and beamed ceiling and lovely views. Bedroom 6: large double bedroom with lovely views. Large family bathroom with bath and vanity.

Our twins grew up in this house, so we have 2 travel cots with mattresses, 2 lovely toddler beds and a child's size table (2 chairs) that can be moved if need to the 3 dining areas. We also have 2 highchairs available.

CHECK-IN: after 4 PM CET.
CHECK-OUT: before 10 AM CET. The day of departure.

GUEST PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED at La Peyrardiere under any conditions.

SECURITY/RESERVATION DEPOSIT: A security deposit of €1000 is required. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met:
• No damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear;
• No charges are incurred due to illegal activity, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
• All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in rubbish bin, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned.
• All keys are left on the kitchen table and house is left locked if property manager is not present upon departure.
• All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
• No towels or linens are lost or damaged.
• No damage is done to property.
• No early arrival or late departure.
• The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or the local law enforcement.

CANCELLATIONS: A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum number of guests is limited to twelve (12) persons including infants and children.

INCLUSIVE FEES: Rates include a one-time linen & towel setup. Facilities fees are included in the rental rate.

NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE: While linens and bath towels are included in the rent, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. However, it is available at an additional rate. We provide beach towels. We do not permit bath towels or linens to be taken from the property.

FALSIFIED BOOKINGS: Any booking obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.

WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS: Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.

PARKING: Please park on the gravel area only.

POOL: When uncovered, children under the age of 12 must be supervised. When not using the pool, use pool alarm when children are present. Use at your own risk. DO NOT STAND ON THE POOL COVER. The pool cover is for safety purposes and is not designed to support a person or persons. No glass in the pool area. No riding bikes on pool deck.

FOUNTAIN: Please supervise children around the fountain area.

FIREPLACES: Fireplace use is forbidden from April 15-September 15. It is illegal to have a wood fire during this time of the year because of the high risk of fire. The kitchen and lounge fireplaces are vented wood-fired fireplaces. Please do not throw any paper or other combustible materials in the fireplace.

SEPTIC AND WATER: This house is on a septic system. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if any improper material, such as feminine products, or baby wipes are flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. Absolutely NO BABY WIPES and NO FEMININE PRODUCTS in the toilet. If it is found that unauthorized products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged the plumbing/septic fee of up to eight hundred euro (€800).

We have the water tested annually and it is potable. The mineral content in the water is high. During a drought, the well water may have an odor.

We recommend you take out travel insurance for your trip.

We're an American family with young children. Our seven-year-old twin girls were born here and grew up in this house. Our hobbies include: exploring Provence, cycling, running and hunting for antiques and treasures at the brocantes and marches aux puces. We have lived in France for 11 years.

We fell in love with Gonfaron while on vacation and dreamed of coming back to live full time! We found our dream stone farmhouse, La Peyrardiere, in 2004 and have enjoyed the central location. We are fortunate to be able to explore nearby Aix-en-Provence, St. Tropez, Grimaud, Lorgues, Cannes, Nice, Hyeres, Frejus and many other Provencal and Côte d'Azur towns and villages.
