Built in 1880 in one of Portland oldest neighborhoods our house is remodeled but still maintains a lot of its historic charm. It's on the southern edge of downtown Portland and in walking distance to many restaurants and attractions.

The space

Our house has a large living room with a fireplace as well as a large dining room.
The rooms are small but have two comfortable queen size beds. We have luggage racks for your bags - but due to limited space, if you travel with a lot of luggage the rooms will feel cramped, especially for two couples.
Kitchen is stocked with all the basics including coffee and tea.
Please keep in mind that check out time is at 11AM unless we have worked out a later checkout at the time of your reservation.

Guest access

You will have full access to the house. This house is a duplex and there is a separate one bedroom unit in the back. The parking in downtown is permitted. I will provide you with a guest pass so you can park your car on the street. I can only give you one guest permit. Please do not use the driveway.

There are 4 large and 4 small towels available for guests. Ironing board and hair dryer are also available in the bathroom. Please let me know if you need special accommodation before booking.

This home is lovely and spacious. It was a bit hot while we were staying there, but there are a.c. units in the bedroom (they are a bit loud though). Check out the food recommendations from the host, they are great. Also only 5 minutes from the zoo, children's museum and the forestry center. The zoo is ok, the children's museum isn't worth the entry fee, but would pass the time on a rainy day.

It's good to us due to the location of the housing is great to move any way for approaching somewhere of downtown and highway. The point we'd like to advise to host is, the house is built on long year ago, so need to take care cleaning, especially small and clean exchange for sleeping. When we arrived at the house, we felt the cover of pillow and bedclothes is newly changed. The # of towel is very limited for 1 week staying. Except that, it's great to us. If these points could be improved, it would be perfect for everyone with economical housing cost. Thank you !

Foad's place was great! Clean and easy to access. Perfect for a long weekend in Portland especially if you're going to be in southwest.

Absolutely can't beat this location! Foad's house is perfectly situated for your trip to Portland. Only 6 minutes from the zoo, 7 minutes from downtown, and less than a minute to freeway access to everything else. It was the perfect size for our family of four. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying here.

The home was in a nice location & is close to downtown. Perfect place for our family. Nearby there is a staircase (200+ stairs) built into the hillside. It is worth the climb as it leads to a great view of the city.

I've been living in Portland for over 7 years now. After living in Bay Area and the east coast we found ourselves here and think of it as home now. I work as a web developer for a tech company. I am a foodie and have been enjoying all the food and drinks that Portland has to offer.
