Conveniently located on the garden level & just steps to beach, you will quickly feel right at home. FREE WIFI, PARKING, WASHER/DRYER, pool, BBQ & tennis. Have morning coffee with a turtle or view whale watching in season across the street. Dining & shops nearby. GREAT for low-impact, less is more type of traveler. The space

ALOHA! My 2 bedroom 1 bath GARDEN VIEW condo is on the GROUND FLOOR of a stand alone two story building. Access to uncrowded sandy beaches & sunset views are across the street. Rental includes FREE WIFI and FREE PARKING which makes visiting Maui more affordable than hotels. Appreciate the convenience of the Washer/Dryer. Refreshing deep pool, bbq & tennis courts are some of the amenities of the complex.

No air-conditioning. Past guests have said its comfortable and not necessary.
Fans and windows in every room.

SETTING -The "POHAILANI" complex is located in Kahana between Lahaina and Kapalua in a tropical setting across from the beach. The condos are set up in twos, a ground floor unit and an upstairs unit. Units are arranged in a graceful oval surrounding a large garden area with two swimming pools, palms, other tropical trees & flowers. A bbq grill &large swimming pool is right outside the lanai. There is a sense of peace and privacy that is not present in the large resorts.

Begin your day with coffee on the lanai or a quick walk across the street to greet the turtles and fill your lungs with healing salty air. Be at peace viewing an unforgettable sunset or witness whales breaching during season at Kahana beach. Take a refreshing plunge into the deep, cool & shady pool. Appreciate the tropical landscape of Pohailani while barbecuing. Cook a homemade meal created with fresh Island produce from the local farmers markets. Salut the day with a toast of pineapple wine.

Noise Disclaimer: You are reserving a DOWNSTAIRS unit. This means like any other downstairs unit - you might hear footsteps and a little noise from upstairs unit. It has never been a problem - thus this disclaimer that if you are ULTRA sensitive to noise, please reconsider your request.

COMPLIMENTARY STARTER KIT
Unlike a hotel we will not replenish these start up items- (2) rolls of toilet paper/(1) paper towel/ sponge, dish and laundry soap/ salt/pepper/ trash bags. Sometimes previous guests leave items behind that are still usable and in good condition. Housekeeper will use her best judgement and leave these items for you.

BEACH ITEMS:
(4) beach chairs,(1) umbrella, (1) cooler, beach towels . It is easy to rent snorkel and beach gear nearby at Maui Dive Shop. Please wash sand off of items before entering condo!

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Located 10 minutes from hot Lahaina, the temperature in Kahana is cooler and ranges around 75 degrees during winter months to lower 80's mid 90's most of year. Trade winds helps to cool warm days. So does a dip in the pool or ocean.
- Smoking is NOT allowed in condo or on Lanai. There are smoking areas on complex.
- LOUD OBNOXIOUS PARTYING is NOT ALLOWED. This is a decent local neighborhood.

Pohailani is your home! I will email the lockbox code prior to arriving. You are on your own to check in and check out. This is not a hotel thus no hotel like services ( no front desk, mail service or housekeeping). There are 2 areas of Pohailani separated by the road and less than a minute apart - the ocean side and the mountain side. We are on the cool tropical mountain side where the 2 pools, tennis court and BBQ is located. The Ocean side is right on the water - with BBQ, picnic bench and sunning chairs. GREAT sunset and whale watching from the wall here! The condo manual will be available for you and includes pool times, etc. We ask that you abide by the community rules. Resident manager is onsite. Private lanai, deep swimming pool, kids pool, bbq grills, common area, picnic areas including ocean portion of Pohailani, tennis court, laundry facilities,parking, beach access on 8 acres.

Interaction with guests

Check in after 4p.m. and check out before 11:00 a.m. - is independent and on own. Housekeeper will clean shortly after departure. Property manager lives a half mile from Pohailani. Owner is available via phone, email, text 24 hours a day. The condo is all yours so settle in and make it home! There are guide books for you to use. Enjoy!

Other things to note

TAXES: I will collect taxes separately from AIRBNB. See their rules if you have questions. Hawaii occupancy tax is 13.42% and will be added to the nightly stay and not the cleaning. Please acknowledge when you request to book. I will let you know what the amount is and you can decide if you would like to reserve. Thank you!

This condo was located in a complex that was beautifully landscaped and maintained, as was the condo. It was within easy distance of markets for picking up last minute food items. The condo was clean and well appointed. It is a place we would happily rent again on a future trip to Maui.

We had a great stay at this condo. Fantastic location, very clean and comfortable, and a well stocked kitchen. Maile was very accommodating and flexible with our schedule. Everything was very organized and of our needs were met. We stayed at 4 different places around the island and this was the best! I would highly recommend it. The only downside was the people staying in the unit above us were a bit too noisy.

The place had a great location to many beaches, and great snorkeling was just around the corner from house. Like stated before, there isn't AC, which we were aware of, but it still pretty uncomfortable in the house, even at night. The toilet leaked in the bathroom, the doors were a little dirty, and men's hair clippings were found around the bathroom sink. Most of the communication from the host is given through email including check-out procedures which I've never had at any other Airbnb. Guests are expected to wash their sheets and towels and empty out the trash before they leave, or may face a fine. Which seems excessive.

We have had over 150 guests and each one communicated well! I was able to assist if anything went amiss during their stay. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER REVIEW .I also have 2 vacation rentals 4.5-5 star. It's sad I have to defend myself in this way but she chose to leave a comments as if I never sent her anything, The guest DID NOT READ or comprehend any rules or chose to book knowingly. This guest was terrible at communication, she did not read the details of our listing - or any of our rules and to do's. Very disrespectful to our condo. Thus I could not help them while here with the toilet (which was left to leak, and I had to replace the entire system). I called and texted DAILY to see when a good time would be to come over and if it was a handyman or plumber job. No reply til she was home on mainland. I also tell guests in emails and texts and verbally - let me know about any problems with condo while here so I can remedy including dirtiness - I cannot help after the fact. The check out list is posted on AIRBNB - thus her comment of excessive cleaning doesn't make sense. She should NOT have reserved with us if she had read the description thoroughly and didn't like it. LASTLY - and most importantly they left the FRONT DOOR key on the door window slat and we could not find it. Instead of calling me about the code - nope. They just left it there. Thus, we don't know who has it and have to change locks for security reasons. For the record - I charged the guest 30.00 for key replacement and DID not leave a review cause I did not have much to say. Aloha.

This is a great place if you want a peaceful location in a residential setting close to Ka'anapali and only a 4 minute walk to the water. For under $1000 for 5 nights for 4 people in July/August, it is very reasonably priced relative to units in a 5-10 mile radius. The host is wonderful: responsive and helpful. The unit has two bedrooms and a back Lanai looking over a green common area which includes the pool. My kids enjoyed the pool noting it was cold. The unit's interior is clean but well-worn, feeling like a beach house. It is not a luxury unit (no marble, new furniture, nor air conditioning) but then it doesn't charge $275+ per nigh, so a great option to consider. After all, it's in Maui!!

The condo was nice and it was a very short walk to a small outlet to the water. It had an assortment of supplies for us to use which was unexpected and completely appreciated. Our main concern is the neighbors on top made a tremendous amount of noise in the early AM. There must have been a couple of small children that ran around constantly after they woke up.
