A romantic and quiet countryside setting in that comes with fresh air and the sounds of frogs in the spring and flocks of migrating birds that come to nest here yearly. getaway from the everyday is the motto here. Escape from your busy life and come here to relax and enjoy the star spectacular every night. No light pollution here just a crystal clear view of the constellation. Situated perfectly for day trips to the West coast, Victoria, the rugged Northern end where whales play

The space
The Emmy cottage is named after one of my horses who live here. The self contained bachelor suite cottage is fully outfitted with everything you need for a light meal. We made sure every detail was thought out carefully to make your getaway special. From wine openers to coffee makers and if its not there I have it in the main house. We have a B.B.Q for our guests to use. Explore all the Island has to offer or sit back and relax with a book. We have lots of literature for you to look through for day trips and restaurants. Bring some wonderful snacks back to your retreat from the Coombs Country Market to enjoy with a bottle of local wine sitting on your private deck looking out to the horses. Evenings by the fire pit are amazing with our clear skies. We have warm blankets and throws to snuggle up in. We have taken the time to bring everything you can possibly need into the cottage for a romantic weekend for two or a special girls weekend away. We have two cottages on the property so bring another couple for a fun weekend away from the city. We live in the main house on the property if you should need anything or have any questions. We also respect your privacy and you can spend an entire weekend seeing no other person if you want.

Guest access
Each cottage ( and there are only two cottages) has its own private sitting area for you to enjoy outside your cottage with two chairs and a fire pit. Wood can be purchased at the local coop just down the road. Occasionally during the summer we do have fire bans but we can advise you before making the purchase of wood. Take advantage on a clear night to enjoy the stars snuggled under a warm blanket or throw. We have two horses on the property who love to have a visit and a carrot while you are staying and Judy is always around to take you to the the barn for a closer visit. We have a community B.B.Q for the two cottage to use. Just let us know if the propane runs out and we are happy to refill it. In the summer we put out a hammock for those lazy days when relaxing with a good book is in order.

Other things to note
We have a friendly dog who may greet you on occasion however if she is outside so are we. If you are allergic or scared of dogs shoot me an email before you come and we will be respectful of the interaction. However this may not be the place for you if you do not like or are not comfortable with dogs. We would recommend looking elsewhere

Neighbourhood highlights

We can recommend plenty of wonderful restaurants that are local. We recommend checking out the farmer markets on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Qualicum and Parksville. If you aren't a morning person there is Coombs Country Market with their famous goats on the roof for pictures and a wonderful assortment of goodies both edible and wonderful souvenirs to take home. Miles and miles of local trails for hikers and of course the beaches are always high on the bucket list of to dos. Inside your cottage we supply booklets of brochures that give you information guided tours such as whale watching excursions and wine tours.
