Private, peaceful & super cute. Almost-off grid cabin in the woods, only 5 minutes to downtown Nelson. Cozy up on the "nest", enjoy the wood burning stove all while looking out the huge windows into the forest. Climb the ladder into the loft bedroom with a queen size bed and be sure to check out the outside fire place, shared hot tub, muskoka chairs and short hiking trail on our 6 acres.

2 people max.

The space
The Bees Knees in the Trees Cabin is a private tiny-home that shares 6 acres with our home. The cabin is approximately 350 sq ft and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It has lots of homey comforts including board games, books, cookware and kitchen essentials (fridge, kettle, french press, toaster oven and hot plate, but no microwave because it's Nelson).

You'll have access to a shared hot tub located behind the main house off the deck.

We provide travel guides of the local area, magazines and useful resources to help you make the most of your time in Nelson.

Guest access
The cabin is in a secluded part of the 6 acre property, about 100 feet from the main house. Parking is just around the sloped gravel driveway - NOTE this can get icy in the winter months (December-March) so be sure to travel with winter tires (required in the City of Nelson from October 1 to March 31st)

Feel free to roam up the property on the trails or hang out on the hammock. Responsible fires in a cute outdoor fire pit are allowed when there is no fire ban (please check with us first!).

If you go way up the back, just watch out for flagged hazards like snags (dead trees) or old metal fencing (the property used to be a farm and orchard).

Probably best not to roam down from the cabin (other than the path to parking) as there is a storage shed and often metal, wood or other pokey things as well as the septic field.

Oh, and no swimming in the reservoir ;)

Other things to note
There is beautiful wildlife in the trees!
We back on to Morning Mountain, which is Crown Land. This means we get frequent deer, less frequent coyotes, chickens and sometimes bears in spring or fall. And sometimes wild turkeys!
This means all attractants must be safely secured in the cabin at night.

There is often a fire ban around July to September. If there is, we can lend out a propane fire ring.

We use our own spring and groundwater! It's screened and UV filtered - and it's the best water you've ever tasted.

In order to conserve our amazing tasting water, we use a Nature's Head Composting Toilet in the cabin (the same kind you'd find on a yacht or other tiny homes).
