Swim in the infinity pool

It's one of the many things that makes this home special.

Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.

Beach view

Soak up the view during your stay.
Casa Cielo is one of the most beautiful, welcoming and well designed villas in Islita with gorgeous ocean views and a quick walk to the beach. With howler monkeys and Scarlett macaws, you'll never have a day without seeing something magical. We boast a safe cove for swimming, elite surfing, an epic equestrian center with trail riding, delicious restaurants, gorgeous hikes, dolphin tours, next level fishing, kayaking, waterfalls, quad rentals, turtle beaches, all within or nearby our valley.

The space
Unlike many of the homes in CR, which are mainly outdoors, Casa Cielo is truly indoor/outdoor. You can shut the huge sliding doors and put on the AC or leave the house open and enjoy the ocean breeze and feel as though you are immersed in nature. All the living areas and bedrooms have AC and screens.
The beach is a short walk. Currently you can use the beach front pool for $5 an adult and $2 a child per day. Additionally the house is easy to access once in the community and has lots of parking. You will receive complimentary cleaning.

As you can see from the photos my mom has impeccable taste, blending warmth and comfort with natural elements. This home is maintained at the highest standards. There is nothing "worn down" about this gorgeous house. You will feel incredibly comfortable and right at home as that is how my mom designed it to feel.

Guest access
You can access all of the home except the outdoor storage and one small closet inside the TV room.

Other things to note
The valley of Islita is quite unique. It is a small chill destination with the local town, hotel, privately owned luxury homes and beach all close in vicinity.
Islita beach is family friendly almost the entire year. We rarely have currents or rip tides and our waves tend to be smaller because of the cove. There is also great shade and a surf school and beachfront massage spa.
There are often fun beginner waves and more advanced waves as well depending on swell and tide.
There are many beaches nearby for more advanced surfing. And very few people at them so that's a bonus.
Although small our valley has many restaurants to choose from. Upon booking you will receive a detailed pdf with every imaginable detail of every imaginable thing to do in this valley and the surrounding areas. =)
25 years ago when my family first came here there were no bridges or paved roads. It was quite the adventure. For most people arriving here by car can still feel quite exciting as there is about 25 mins of dirt mountainous road before you arrive in the valley. However, there is now a bridge so you don't have to cross the huge river. We are about 2.5 hours from Liberia airport and 4.5 hours from San Jose airport. The pdf I send you has driving direction links and all the details you need for getting here including shuttle services, private plane charters, etc.
The nature and wildlife here is very exciting (see photos). We have a Scarlett macaw breeding center which has currently released over 50 birds into the wild in our valley. Our beach is in between two turtle nesting beaches!
Our climate is more dry in the non-rainy season (Dec-April) and although humid in the rainy season (May-Nov) its quite comfortable for most.
Yes we have bugs and critters. Don't leave things on the ground, shake out your towels and shoes for example.
My mom's house is overall mosquito free although during rainy season they can be around more. Come prepared if you know you are sensitive to them.
We have top level horse riding, private yoga, exclusive surf trips, beachfront spa services and so much more. All this info. will be included in more detail in the pdf.
We can provide private chef options if you are interested.
We have a couple that cleans and maintains the house. They can come as often or as seldom as you like. But there are a few things that need attention almost everyday like the pool maintenance.
It is smart when traveling to any country to be mindful of your valuables. Although rare, petty theft does occur so just like in any place best not to leave anything in your car when parking at beaches here and don't leave things on the beach unattended.

Where you’ll be

Punta Islita, Provincia de Guanacaste, Costa Rica

From the photos it may appear that the house is far from the ocean, but in fact it is only a 2 minute drive or a very short walk through a horse farm or on a golf cart path. You can hear the sounds of the ocean from the house.
Lomas de Islita, which is the name of the community where this house is located, is very private. There are only a handful of homes and you can't see your neighbors from the house. It is a quiet place where most of the sounds you hear are of ocean waves and nature.
The neighborhood is safe and has a friendly guard that is present around the clock.

Lives in Punta Islita, Costa Rica
Our family loves nature, animals and adventure so in 2021 we sold everything and moved back to our Costa Rican paradise. My parents bought their first house in this magical valley 25 years ago and I have been in love ever since. We are so happy that we can share this special place that we call home.
