Staying at Bali Lush transports you back to a time when rice fields dominated most of Bali island. The former one-hectare rice terrace has been transformed into a boutique eco-friendly retreat that immerses you in the traditions and beliefs of the rice farming village of Manikyang. Standing in the presence of Mount Batukaru, Bali’s second highest peak at 2,276 meters, the village is one of the hidden treasures of Tabanan regency.
Floating amongst the branches of the clove trees, the Limasan Angel is a touch of heaven on Earth. The antique cottage from central Java has been reassembling on the slopes of Bali Lush by master Indonesian craftsmen. The wooden panels on one side of the cottage have been replaced with glass panels to provide you with an unprecedented and unobstructed view of the rice field. Entertain all five of your senses on the veranda that runs the width the Limasan and sits one-story above the ground.
A sculptured chandelier boasting Edison lights warms the rattan lined Cathedral ceilings. Exotic and colorful Moroccan theme floor tiles imbue a sense of wonder and play on the large, airy and sun filled room. Two American king-sized beds and a single bed/settee accommodate up to 5 people. All beds are dressed in luxurious linens and mosquito nets. Foliage themed bedside lamps cleverly enhance the tree house experience.
A large open-air bathroom is decorated with locally grown ferns and flowering plants. The waterfall showerhead washes away any residual stress your may have brought with you. Of course, a spectacular view of the rice field is available from this unique space. A large flat screen TV, DVD player and a large collection of DVDS stand ready to entertain you at a moment's notice.
Frangipani trees line both sides of the central walkway that runs from the top of the property to the stream that delineates the lower boundary. Rose bushes, orchids and numerous of other flowering plants decorate the terraces. Indonesian teak cottages lovingly restored by Javanese master craftsmen are strategically place on the property among fruit trees that produce guavas, lemons, mangoes, papayas and water apples. A large Bale sits besides the romantic heart-shaped pool; ready for an afternoon nap or evening stargazing.
You have access to the following:
-Heart-shaped swimming pool
-Bale (large antique thatched-roofed daybed). If you prefer to sleep in the Bale instead of the Gladak, we can set up a mosquito net and prepare the bedding upon request.
-Fruit orchard. We invite you to pick and eat fruit direct from the property's trees. Adi will be happy to retrieve and prepare a refreshing coconut for you to enjoy.
-Vegetable garden. We grow a variety of heirloom vegetables using permaculture techniques.
-Assorted farm animals
-Heritage rice paddy
-Coconut and papaya grove
-Private Hindu family shrine

Other things to note
Children love Bali Lush. Bali Lush is a great opportunity to meet and play with lots of different farm animals. We have a brand new piglet that you canhold. We also have 2 dogs: Poppy a red female Golden Retriever x Labrador; and Lucky, a black female Bali Street Dog x fox terrier. Both animals were rescued from the street. Many of our neighbours raise farm animals like cows, goats, chickens, and ducks. We can make arrangements for you to visit and feed these gentle creatures.
Because they are wooden structures, we ask that you please refrain from smoking or lighting candles in the cottages or at poolside Bale.

I live next door to Bali Lush and I manage the property. I am proud to be Balinese and look forward to showing you my village. I regularly take guests on a morning walk through the village to a nearby waterfall, and can explain all about the temples, traditional ceremonies, farming, and plants of the area. I look forward to showing you the Real Bali.
I live with my wife, 2 children and parents.
