I had a fantastic stay! Everything was so clean, and it was very quiet. It's not a bad drive into the city at all.

We met Alexandra because Phil was off that day but met him later on and they were both super nice. The bed was much more firm than medium firm and there were two pillows instead of four. The bedspread also had dog fur left on it from a previous guest I'm assuming as there were no pets in the house at the time we were there. The room was a little stuffy and no fan was provided. The blinds were also broken and it being on the front of the house, the room was fully exposed to anyone on the street. We used a sheet to cover the window to provide privacy. A few things were broken in the home with signs taped on them on either how to use them or not to use them, a bathroom sink being one. The people were very nice and friendly but the expectations versus the reality of the place were a little subpar to what I had hoped the place would be.

Response from Alexandra:
I'm actually very sad about this review. I'm not sure why none of this was told to us the first moment you noticed. I'm sorry it was such an unpleasant experience for you. Phil even asked you both how you enjoyed the room and you both said it was fine. 1. A fan could have been provided as we do have fans. 2. Things break in the home, that doesn't mean they are always broken, to insinuate otherwise is deceptive to incoming guests. Bottom line, you had ample opportunity to bring these concerns up to us throughout your stay but instead decided to use this forum to voice your complaints without opportunity for us to rectify it properly. Sorry again for the poor experience. Have a good day.

Great quick overnight stay to pick up daughter at NCSU. Accommodations stellar as usual. Always love to see house manager Phil. Also close to NC Farmers Market which is a big plus!

Brian stayed while attending work related conference at NCSU. Great overnight stay, great visit with the house manger Phil and other guests. This is becoming our home away from home!

We host one bedroom in our own home, and we also manage 4 bedrooms in my mothers home here in Raleigh. Our onsite guest host Phil also lives in my mother's home and you'll definitely meet him if you stay there :)

We are 28 year old married, highschool sweethearts! We have four dogs, Serena (16-Shiba/Shepard mix) , Zero (3-Husky/Shiba) MIx. Jessie (2yr - Pitt/Lab mix) and Atari ( 8 month GSD). We also have 1 Hamster- Anastasia. As you can see...we're big animal lovers.

We moved to Raleigh to give ourselves the treat of living with really nice fresh air and more space for our pups to run around. We both work as freelance graphic designers and travel for business often. But do work from home as well.

Alex loves reading and Netflix and Mark likes video games and making nice toasty fires for cold nights out. We try to travel to places with enough room for the pups to play and of course are pup friendly. They're our kids for now, and treat them as so.

Why we host? We love meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life. We're originally from NYC and so enjoy the ability to still maintain a "melting pot" atmosphere down here in Raleigh. We love to learn more about all of our guests, and we enjoy hearing stories and experiences! Also, it's always nice to expand your circle of friends with people outside of your immediate area!
