For my recent visit to Melbourne, I was looking for a small, simple, conveniently located flat as a place to sleep and to prepare light meals. Sammy's apartment filled the bill nicely.
The flat is small - the picture pretty much shows all of the main living space - but it is adequate for one or two people. There is a dining table which can be set up for eating and as a workspace, which I found helpful. The kitchenette area is small and simple but has what one would need for light meal preparation. Having a washer/dryer inside the unit was a nice convenience as well.
The bathroom was spotless, and the shower delivered a nice, hot stream of water. The bedroom is small, and the large bed takes up most of the floor space, but that wasn't a problem for me. I found it very comfortable and slept well.
There is a wall mounted climate control unit in the main living area which provided the right amount of comfort for Melbourne's changing weather conditions.
I didn't actually meet the host, but the host made convenient arrangements for me to pick up the keys and to drop them off after my stay. Everything was as promised.
The location is a short walk from the #72 tram and perhaps a 7-10 minute walk from Chapel Street. There's a petrol station/convenience store close by at Punt Road, and a Cole's Supermarket is just south on Chapel Street. The #72 tram goes directly to Flinders Street Station / Confederation Square and up to the University of Melbourne, making it easy to get into the CBD.
All in all a nice stay.
