We stayed at Alma’s place for 2 nights mid-April in order to enjoy annual chocolate festival. Alma’s place is located slightly off the historic town centre, in the idyllic part of Radovljica, where you can enjoy an amazing view of the cerulean blue river and a snowy mountain back drop with apple blossoms and pretty horses to complete the picture. The apartment itself is a very generous size, with two cheerful bedrooms, a large bathroom, a square hallway, a kitchen complete with cooking apparatus and a tastefully furnished living room.
Of course, mentioning all of that, we could not neglect mention of our host! Alma epitomizes Slovenian hospitality – on arrival there was a bottle of homemade apple brandy waiting for us on the kitchen table, a pre-paid phone thoughtfully provided for any sticky situations we might accidentally get into, mountain bikes a-waiting by the door and also helpful suggestions of brochures and timetables which smoothed our planning a lot. Alma proved to be very knowledgeable and an interesting person to talk to – it turns out that this is her grandparent’s farm and that she’s involved in the film industry in Slovenia! With her suggestion, we enjoyed a very scenic and pleasant walk from Radovljica to Bled (around 3 hours), which we would have definitely missed without her.
Complaints? Should’ve stayed there for longer! :) We look forward to staying with her again next time we’re in Slovenia!
We can not recommend staying in Alma's idyllically situated and beautifully presented apartment any higher!! Alma was an incredibly attentive and helpful host going out of her way to ensure we had the best stay! She thought of everything - including a pre-paid mobile phone in case we needed to contact her! The apartment was perfectly equipped and although there was only two of us, it could have certainly catered for four very comfortably! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and prepare meals! She provided us with maps and helped look up times of buses to Lake Bled - which was only a 15min bus ride away! The aspects and views out the windows of her apartment were stunning! We also were lucky enough to have a tour by her of her charming farm which we thoroughly enjoyed! It was lovely also getting to know Alma and being able to chat to her about Slovenia! Wonderful experience and would definitely recommend! Thank you so much Alma for all your kindness!
Alma's BnB made our stay in Slovenia that much sweeter. Not only was the room clean, spacious and pleasant, but Alma was a great host. We were greeted with homemade apple brandy and snacks, in the fridge we found fresh eggs from the farm. Alma supplied a prepaid phone so that we wouldn't have to use our own phone at an expense. My kids 5 and 7 didn't want to leave they loved all the farm animals and are still talking about it. We are already planning our next trip to the farm.
We had a perfect stay at the farmhouse in Slovenia. The space was perfect and clean. A great location, near to Rado and well situated to Lakes Bled and Bohinj, also a short drive to Ljubljana. We did enjoy the benefit of hiring a car as driving around the area was very easy and made things more convenient. But the best part about this place was Alma. She went above and beyond her hosting job of helping us. She picked us up at the airport, brought us back to the airport, procured us a turkey for Christmas, waited for us at the grocery store and answered all questions and then some. She was friendly, helpful and always available. We would not have had as great of a trip had it not been for Alma. Would highly recommend this place again mainly due to Alma's kindness.
PERFECT PLACE TO EXPLORE LAKE BLED & BOHINJ
We've had a great time on Alma's farm despite the foggy and coldish November weather. The view from the apartment are gorgeous with mountains in the back, green pastures all around and picturesque alpine houses up in the hills. The apartment is very spacious and provides everything you need to relax and feel at home. Especially the kitchen is well equipped and perfect for home cooking. Make sure you let Alma give you a little tour of the farm to meet the animals. Thanks a lot and our very best wishes!
My first airbnb experience, I hope the others will be as good.
Firstly, thanks to Alma for the great directions - trust your GPS at your peril - it will send you down steep hairpin bends!
Apartment is exactly as described. Warm, well equipped and immaculately clean. I work in the hotel industry so I know what clean is! Lovely views, and walking distance to local restaurants. There is a large supermarket nearby if you need to stock up.
Location is beautiful with views of the mountains and countryside.Lake Bled a 15 minute drive away (try the famous cream cake). The airport is about 30 mins drive from the apartment. There is lots to do - even in the 'off season' on a short break, we found lakes to boat on, a castle where we bottled wine, cable cars to the top of a mountain, a wooden walk way along a gorge and a trip to one of the world's most amazing cave networks that was just stunning.
Alma is friendly and welcoming but not intrusive, she has loads of tips and advice to share as well as making a real effort to provide lots of useful guidebooks and maps.
Slovenia is a beautiful country and Alma's apartment is the perfect place to use as a base for exploring all that is on offer. We would gladly come back and stay again! J,L&T
Chickens, cows, horses, goats, bunnies, kittens, farm fresh eggs, apple brandy and of course, Maja and her lovely family. What an amazing experience! The apartment has everything you could ever need. The farm is fantastic, the town (a short 5 min walk) of Radovljica is charming (cutest town in Slovenia) and Maja and her lovely family were generous and welcoming. We would go back in a heartbeat and look forward to enjoying another cup of tea with Maja somewhere else in the world in the near future!
My husband and I stayed in this large two bedroom apartment in early October. This apartment was very private, and it had remarkable and dramatic valley views from its balconies. It was comfortable, and fully furnished. Alma and her parents were extremely warm and thoughtful, and they included unexpected extras ( food and drink) for our arrival. The farm location was very peaceful, but within an easy 5 minute walk uphill to Radovljica , a village that we loved. It was very easy to drive to Bled and Lake Bohinj from this home. We would love to rent this apartment again and we recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the Triglav, Bled area from a warm and convenient home base.
We had a wonderful stay at the farm! The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for cooking, sleeping, and enjoying our stay. The apartment was very clean and the beds and pillows were also very comfortable.
Alma is very friendly and welcoming. She is a wonderful hostess. We enjoyed meeting her and exploring the farm with our two young children. My husband's parents were also with us and also really enjoyed everything.
The farm is wonderful! Organic fruit trees, lots of animals, and very peaceful. Walking up to charming Radovljica allowed beautiful views of the farm and surroundings. A perfect place for us to stay.
We spent four night in Alma’s apartment. The apartment is very spacious: two bedrooms, living room, kitchen with a dinner table and two balconies. The apartment is convenient , well maintained and very clean.
The kitchen is fully equipment as well as basic products like coffee, tea, milk and spices. We even had a plate of local fruit and homemade snaps. Since it is located in agricultural section on the outskirts of Radovlijica the view of the balcony is absolutely amazing. Un abstracted view of Triglav mountains on top of the fields.
Alma is really great, she speaks flaunt English and she helps us with local restaurants and tips on where to go. Do try Alma’s breakfast, is full breakfast with typical local Slovenian dishes.
If you are looking for a roomy place with friendly host try Alma’s apartment.
