Come enjoy this sweet little house! Located just one block from downtown Manzanita and two blocks from the beach it is recently updated with tile floors, a spacious kitchen, and comfortable sitting area. Manzanita short term rental license MCA #750.
Sibley Cottage was originally built in the 1930's as one of Manzanita's earlier homes, and it has been recently renovated to provide modern comforts in an updated space.
Entering the home from the front porch, you step into the main living area with space for relaxed seating, cooking and eating all in one. The living and dining area has a leather sectional couch, DVD player (please note there is no cable or satellite service) and an expandable table plus stools for additional seating along one side of the kitchen counter. The kitchen is supplied with high quality cookware as well as plenty of storage and prep surfaces.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a set of twin bunk beds and the other with a queen. The queen bedroom is located between the bunk room and the bathroom and has only filtered natural light, a good spot for those who are hoping to sleep in late. The bathroom with heated tile floor and separate laundry room are on the first floor as well.
A spiral staircase from the main living space leads up to the loft bedroom with a king bed. The loft is open to the living area, yet designed to maximize privacy. Windows to the west bring the sound of waves in as you sleep.
Guests have full access to the home, including front porch, laundry room, and bedroom closet storage. There is a secured (not locked) shed in front of the house with bins for garbage and recycling, as well as beach chairs and toys which you are welcome to use during your stay.

We love children, and we want you to know ahead of time that this cottage does have a spiral staircase which can pose a hazard for toddlers and young children.
We know you love to bring your dogs to the beach, and we want to be able to continue to welcome our guests' dogs to stay at our cottage. We ask that you bring your own doggie towels, that you wipe your dogs down after returning from the beach or coming in from the rain, and that you keep your dogs off of the beds and couch. Woof!
We would like you to be aware that there is another home on the property, tucked behind Sibley Cottage with a separate entrance and situated to maximize privacy for everyone. This is not another vacation rental, rather home to residents of the local community. During your stay we ask that you respect their privacy just as they will respect yours.
Please inquire if you are interested in a stay of one month or longer, as we can offer a discounted rate for stays of longer than 30 days.
Before confirming your booking, please make sure you understand our expectations for your check-out. Prior to leaving the home, we ask that you:
Sort recycling, including all glass, papers, plastics, cans and metals. Remove all recycling and garbage from the cottage and place in appropriate bins in storage shed out front. Recycling is mandatory as garbage service is limited and we believe in making use of the excellent recycling resources in our community.
In the kitchen, wash and put away all dishes you have used during your stay (ok to leave one load of dishes going in the dishwasher). Wipe down countertops, clear your personal items out of the fridge and clean up any spills from the fridge, stovetop, oven and microwave. Place dirty kitchen towels and cloths in the laundry room.
From the bedrooms, remove all bedding which has been used and place in laundry baskets provided.
From the bathroom, remove all used towels and place in the laundry room, and start one load of towels in the washing machine.
You will find a list outlining these check-out tasks inside the cottage. In the event that the check-out tasks are not completed, a $30 per hour fee will be incurred for the time (one hour minimum) required to complete any remaining tasks and the total of these charges will be taken from your deposit.
