We had a wonderful time in Florence! Salvatore and his mom were fantastic to us. Michelangelo apartment was super clean, with nicely appointed rooms and air conditioned. The washing machine and balcony with clothes folding dryer were very convenient. The apartment is centrally located between Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Vecchio and Santa Croce, the best and most authentic section of Florence, still brimming with local shops and a bit away from the packed tourist area of the Cathedral, still within walking distance. All museums, Uffizi, Bargello, the Cathedral, are an easy walk from the apartment. Popular and delicious Gelateria dei Neri is on the main floor of the building, a great treat to have by the door steps! Da Giuliano, an old style deli with delicious take out food is also in the building and used mostly by locals (one of few mom and pop delis remaining in the historical downtown). Try the schiacciata stuffed with mortadella! The building has a lovely courtyard, period staircase and apartment details. Wifi in the apartment was the best we've had during our entire stay in Italy. Salvatore responded promptly to all of our questions, and his mom helped us with cabs and other needs. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Florence, this place is a keeper! Donatella and family.
