The space
This private Airbnb has its own separate entrance at the back of our house which is well lit should you be coming and going at night.

You can come and go as you please, 24 hours a day, with lock opening pin pad. The entry code will automatically be emailed to you by Airbnb the day before your arrival. Watch for that email.

The location of our Airbnb gives you a unique opportunity to experience one of the most desirable areas in Toronto (Yonge and Eglinton).

It is one of the few residential areas that is very close to the action and amenities of famous Yonge st., and at the same time has a quiet, safe and spacious feel to it where predominating families reside.

We are just a 3-4 minute walk to Yonge street where you will find a plethora of grocery stores (2), restaurants (20+), clothing shops (20+), movie theatres (2), coffee shops (10+), liquor and wine shops (2) , library and much more.

We are just a 5-7 minute walk to the Yonge and Eglinton subway station giving you access to all of Toronto’s attractions such as concert (Roy Thompson Hall, National Ballet Center) and sport venues (Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple leafs, Toronto Argonauts, TFC) CN tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, Royal Ontario Museum, and Ontario Science Centre.

If you want to be active we have a newly renovated community Center directly behind our house with indoor and outdoor pools, workout centre, fitness classes, indoor basketball court, outdoor tennis courts.

We also have a massive green space behind our house with a brand new kids playground equipped with multiple climbers for all ages of kids!

The Airbnb is a newly renovated basement area that is open concept and professionally cleaned before each stay.

The space is equipped with two comfortable King (Soma 100% organic) and Queen sized beds.

The space has its own 3 piece private bathroom with shower. Freshly cleaned towels are provided as well as body wash, shampoo and conditioner.

There are two reasons for the low economical pricing for a private Airbnb of this location.

One is that the ceiling height is not standard. I’m 5’9” and don’t notice it. Anyone 6’5” or over would have to duck. The ceiling height works for almost everyone, however be prepared if you are tall.

The second reason is the stairs leading down into the Airbnb is atypical and bit awkward.

We have installed a hand rail and lots of automated lighting so you can navigate the entry stair easily even at night.

Once you are in it is a cozy oasis!

We ask that you rate the value and overall experience accordingly as we adjusted our pricing knowing these two things and disclosing them to our prospective guests.

Our guests typically rate the Airbnb at five stars as they are aware of the value of the area and that hotels are non existent here.

There are no cooking facilities in the Airbnb however within a 5 minute walk you may find plenty of restaurants or prepared foods at Metro grocery store.

The Airbnb is equipped with a coffee maker, blender, kettle and mini fridge as well as a fold out table and chairs, plates and cutlery for dine in.

We also have a menu of Isagenix meal replacement shakes you can purchase for convenience for $5.

You blend them up with your Airbnb blender and water. The shake will fill you up and are super nourishing. You receive one complimentary shake per stay to try.

Enjoy also free wifi and Fibe TV that has all the sports channels and access to Netflix with your password.

The TV has a built in DVD player and you may enjoy any of our 50 DVDs provided.

The rest of the house is occupied by our family. We are a professional family with three great kids ages 12,11,8.

We hope to attract guests that are understanding that they are sharing a home and although we are all considerate of our guests, some noises may be heard from us when we are home.

We are usually up in the morning at 7:00am and there is some activity until 8:30am when they go school and then again after school from 4pm to about 9pm.

From time to time you may faintly hear the faint playing of piano, kids singing or playing. There is no fighting or other nonsense happening with them.

We are, for the short term fostering a poodle puppy (hypo allergenic, non shed) which is part of the guide dog program, later becoming a dog for someone with special needs. The puppy sleeps most of the time. I have heard her back a few times in 5 months so barking isn’t an issue.

If you like dogs you can meet her as her being socialized with as many people as possible is part of the program requirements.

If you are coming from the airport you use public transport to get to our house. The train is called the Union Express train from the airport to Union subway station.

It is a new train and the most relaxing experience coming from the airport as you avoid traffic. It is $12 per person to Union Station. You can take the Yonge Subway North from Union station to Yonge and Eglinton station or use Uber to get to our house.

From the Eglinton station it is a 5 minute walk to our house, or a 1 min Uber ride.

If you don't have Uber you can use this code when signing up to get you $15 off your first ride uberB7cj4kz3z.

If you are driving and need parking the most economical overnight parking is at Eglinton Ave and Henning Ave which is one side street East of Edith on the North side of Eglinton Ave (3 minute walk from our house). the cost is $4 from 4pm to 8am. On Saturday and Sunday the day price is $4 from 8am to 4pm!

If you need short term daytime parking on weekdays at 8am the goes up considerably at the Henning parking lot so you can then move your car to the North Toronto community center (one side street west of Edith 2 min walk from our house) if you wish which is $4.5 for 4 hours at a time (see the sign for details). There is also street parking on Edith Dr. for free for a one hour duration from 10am to midnight.

For more convenience and most economical you can get a temporary street parking pass in about 3 minutes time by clicking this link
https://secure.toronto.ca/wes/eTPP/welcome.do. It is $9.23 +HST for 24 hours, $13.85 + HST for 48 hours or $21.63 + HST for one week
