Manzac is set in a magnificent, peaceful rural location with spectacular views of the Pyrenees. Spacious, comfortable self catering gite along with a two acre garden, pool and games room. Perfect for a family holiday. Please see our website (search 'manzac') for much more info and photos.

The space
Manzac d'en Bas and this gite - Le Logement - is located in a truly exceptional and relatively unknown part of France. The Ariege Department is one of France's best kept secrets and an undiscovered treasure with stunning countryside, colourful markets, pretty towns and villages, great wildlife, mediaeval Cathar castles, spectacular limestone caves as well as easy access to the Pyrenees. Please visit our website (search 'manzac') for lots of information on a wide range of activities, things to do and places to visit to suit all ages and interests.

Guest access
You have complete freedom to access your gite, Le Logement, whilst on holiday as and when you want. You also have unlimited access to all the communal facilities - the pool, the garden, the terraces, the fire pit, the summer games room etc.

Other things to note
Please note that this gite is one of three at Manzac d'en Bas, so unless you reserve all three gites, it is unlikely that your group will have exclusive access to Manzac and all its facilities. Obviously your gite is private, but in addition, the lay-out of the garden allows guests to be separate or to socialise as they wish. The gîtes each have their own outdoor eating spaces, set well apart, to enable family groups and friends to enjoy some private time together. There is, however, also plenty of communal space if guests decide they want to have drinks or a have a barbeque with other guests. In addition, many guests are pleased that their children will be able to play and socialise with other children staying at Manzac thus adding the enjoyment of the holiday for both children and parents.

We moved to France in 2003 because, as a family, the opportunity arose and we had the chance to do something very different. We felt that if we didn't do it then, we never would and after that we would always be asking "What if?" So with next to no planning we sold our house in Britain and moved to France, not really knowing where we were going or what we were going to do - crazy really, but ignorance was bliss. Our experiences would have made perfect television for any number of Channel 4 TV programmes -No Going Back, Grand Designs, Restoration Man! It has been quite an experience, but a very rewarding one and we are now very happily settled in the Ariege, having established a successful gite business and most importantly, have an excellent way and quality of life.
