Very secluded spot. Ken had the fire going for us which was appreciated. Got a great campfire going which we had a good time sitting around. If you're looking for a quiet spot with friends for the weekend then this is great.

Ken was a great host, very easy going and easy to have a laugh with. He had the fire already going as we arrived which was much appreciated due to the cold weather outside. Fernihurst is a great location to getaway with with some of your friends and enjoy the great outdoors.

Ken was an amazing host ! He guided us to the property and frequently checked if we are comfortable. As it's a old unfurnished/unoccupied property at an extremely affordable price, do not expect cozy comfort. But hey ! who needs that comfort when you can stay out all night under clear skies gazing beautiful moon, stars with an awesome campfire, music to go with and some drinks ! Ken went out of his way to provide us a camp spot closer to creek and we had a good time there too. It's just a matter of time before we return again, well prepared to spend a quiet weekend with family. I am so surprised none from our group (11 odd) even felt like touching their mobile phone and especially kids who loved playing out in the open, dancing, singing and having a time of their life !

Our large family stayed at the homestead for the long weekend, celebrating the life of my Uncle who grew up in the Boort area with my Mother. We are from a farming background and the homestead was perfect for us, just like old times as kids. If you are from the city and have not been exposed to farm living then it may be a bit of a culture shock... Ken was an amazing host and the family enjoyed spending time with him talking about the history of the area. A beautiful spot to sit and reflect.

Ken was an unbelievably awesome and welcoming host, we were a group of film students shooting a music video for La Mother Chucha and the location was perfect. Remote, isolated, beautiful - the weather was great, sunny days, cool nights. The views of the sky at night cannot be beaten. We had a cast and crew of 10, plenty of beds and space for everyone. Ken helped us with some of the shots as well, and they look spectacular. We can't rate him higher, and hope to go back again!

The house was very old and rundown. Its an abandoned farm. There were a few beds, a few chairs. The beds were covered in dirty old bedding. They were not beds really, just old mattresses on the floor. No cutlery or crockery. There was a mosquito plague outside. We left after 1/2 hr. If we stayed we'd have been eaten alive. Virtually no lights worked. Some taps had no water. Near the house was a pond. I think the tap water was coming from there. The house was surrounded by old sheds and rusting piles of metal. The property is to be auctioned judging by the sign at the front gate. More like a camping holiday where you bring everything you need.
