WINTER
The driveway is quite steep, even if not covered with snow, it can still be icy. We hire a private company that plows the snow and sands. During winter months, we ask you to unload your vehicle down below (if conditions are good and your vehicle is equipped with 4x4 and winter tires) and park at the top overflow parking. This ensures you can get out no matter the weather.
Steps down to the cottage may be slippery, please be cautious! We try our best to sand and salt the walkways during turnovers, but will not be able to mid-stay.
The lake freezes over in late January, depending on the temperature. Enjoy walks, snowshoeing, ice fishing and snowmobiling on Lake of Bays. However, we cannot guarantee that ice is safe to walk on at any time, please do so at your own risk.
There are lots of snowmobiling trails in the area, Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area is also approx. 30 minutes away.
We look forward to welcoming you to Lily's Lake House!
Guest access

Other things to note

Outdoor stairs - there are 81 steps down to the lake. Most can do these steps without issue, however, if you are pregnant or have any medical concerns, these may be daunting.
Water - the cottage is on a lake line. The water is safe for washing dishes or brushing teeth, but not recommended to drink. Please bring sufficient bottled water for drinking or cooking.
Garbage Disposal - there is no waste pickup here, so please take all of your garbage with you! There are many waste disposal sites including Baysville, Dwight or Bracebridge. If you cannot take garbage with you, we can arrange disposal at an additional fee.
Winter - The private road and driveway are a bit steep and can be slippery in the winter months. There is overflow parking spots at the entrance off of the main road (Muskoka Rd 117) where we advise you can safely park and walk down to the cottage. Although the road is plowed, winter conditions are uncertain. Please take caution as it may be icy, drive slowly and acknowledge the inherent risks.
