This is a beautiful newly renovated section of a 100 year old workers cottage. It has stunning views across a tranquil rural valley to the west from a newly built desk. Inside it is a compact studio with a separated sleeping area, and a large bathroom. Please note the Studio is one apartment in the building that has a Cottage attached through a common wall.
We have provided a carport for parking. The Parking for the Studio in a double carport at the top of the drive behind a tree on the right.

The space
The cottage was built around the beginning of the 20th century. It was originally a rural worker's cottage. It has foundations and bearers that were originally milled from trees locally. The cottage has been altered and extended many times over the past 120 years. Our contribution was to re clad the cottage in new color bond metal, and add a modern bathroom and kitchen. However, we have retained the old kitchen which was the wood burning stove and fireplace, for your interest. Please note the Cottage is one apartment in the building that has a Studio attached through a common wall.

Where you’ll be

Armidale, New South Wales, Australia

We are in the heart of Armidale and in a secluded and beautiful rural environment. Armidale is a university town and is famous for its arts, culture, music and food. Being at the heart of the Australian Wool and Cattle industry, the town has some very upmarket shopping servicing the landed gentry and the sophisticated tastes of the university. There are a large number of working artists in Armidale and there are a number of public and private galleries displaying and selling their works. For more active visitors, there is a wide variety of bush walks and drives, fishing and other game pursuits.

Urbane and witty Teacher, with a wife and partner, Fifi, who is fortunately much more empathetic and interesting. We enjoy the opportunities of life and would like to share our take on existence with other people who similarly demand high standards and authenticity. Loves include art, the theatre, good food and the joy of rural Australia. Dilemmas include three dogs loved; adored by Fifi when I am not really a pet person. Also a cat that is not loved quite as much, but is a very good mouser.
