Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Private entrance and a screened porch lead to a charming upstairs bedroom with a queen bed and a window looking out to greenery.

(Please note that stairs are original to the house, narrow and somewhat steep.)

Full private bathroom located downstairs.

The Lunenburg bump has a small desk, books, board games, coffee & tea, and a mini-fridge for your use.

You are welcome to enjoy the front porch, gardens, or seaside deck chairs.

Rose Bay Store & Bistro is a 10 min walk.

The space
A charming bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and sloped ceiling. A luggage rack and portable fan are available in the room.

[Please note there is no access to a kitchen or cooking facilities.]

Sip your morning coffee as you watch the sun rise over Rose Bay from the edge of the salt marsh, watching herons, plovers and ducks in the bay.

In the evening, sit with a good book on the front porch, taking in the last rays of the sun setting on the pastoral landscape of Rose Bay.

Guest access
You will have access to your room (upstairs), the full bathroom (downstairs), the reading nook in the Lunenburg bump with coffee maker, kettle and mini-fridge.

[Please note there is no access to a kitchen or cooking facilities.]

Feel free to enjoy the front porch, gardens, outdoor shower, as well as oceanside seating down by the bay.

During your stay
We hope to create a space that feels like 'home away from home' for you while you stay with us and are very happy to meet our guests.

If you need anything, we will do our best to try to help. Directions, recommendations, sewing needle and thread, a fresh towel? Just ask!

Please note that while we aim to give you the privacy you desire, we do live in the home as well, with our greyhound Albert and chihuahua Miette so you will see us out and about. We aim to be relatively quiet, but this is an old house, so you may hear us.

Other things to note
In the spirit of a kinder, safer, more peaceful and inclusive world, our home is a safe space.

We trust our guests and only have interior sliding locks on the bedroom doors, so you can lock them while inside, but not from the outside.

We’re so glad you’re here! Hosting started from our desire to share the natural beauty and serenity of life by the sea with family and friends. Our family is made up of Istvan & Nicolas, and our rescue greyhound Albert and chihuahua Miette. Our home is a 160-year-old farm house and barn that was part of the original gold-rush town at the Ovens in the 1860’s. Our home is a safe space for all and we welcome open minds and open hearts.
