As I mentioned to Connor, the house was built in 1900, and has no insulation. His group stayed at the house during the coldest days of the year, when it got below 30 degrees. The interior of the house generally cannot raise more than 25 degrees above outside ambient temperature. It’s just the way old houses in New Orleans work. On his last morning, the pipes froze overnight, blocking water from reaching the faucets. This could have been avoided by allowing a small stream of water to flow from each faucet. Unfortunately, the cold is beyond my control. There were enough blankets for the 5 beds in the house that are advertised as part of the sleeping arrangement. EACH guest choosing to have his OWN blanket is certainly an option for the guest, but I do not advertise that I provide more bedding than the beds I list. I’m glad Connor enjoyed his stay overall.
