The Lodge at Lower Barn Farm is a quirky, rustic, converted barn designed with recycled materials sourced from the farm, which makes for an ideal rural getaway. 70 acres of rolling country side and wooded grounds on the Kent and Sussex borders, complete with idyllic fishing lakes, are just waiting to be explored. There are woodland walks, an abundance of wildlife to be discovered and even the 14th century Bodiam castle, a 5 minute ride away, if you’re lucky you might even spot a kingfisher.
The space
Surrounded by fields, farmland and lakes once owned by the Guinness family for farming their hops, this wonderful property is located close to the village of Bodiam. Situated next door to the owner, and X2 converted barn farm stays 'The Stable' & 'The Grange', the former farm building provide a comfortable and welcoming base for a wonderful holiday in Sussex.
The Lodge is a converted barn semi-detached to 'The Grange' farm stay - that has a rustic / industrial design with an ethos of reusing materials from the local area & on the farm, giving you that extra special feeling / connection with nature when staying.
The Lodge consists of X3 bedrooms that sleeps 8 people. Bedroom 1 sleeps X4 and has a treehouse inspired mezzanine floor which consists of a pallet double bed on the ground floor, handmade rustic tree staircase on ash and hornbeam timber stilts leading to a pallet double bed situated on top creating a wonderful cozy space.
Bedroom 2 consists of its own private bedroom sleeping X2 in a double bed, above this is what we would call the open planned bedroom 3, this has a handmade hornbeam rustic timber staircase leading above bedroom 2 with a pallet bed situated on top, this is open planned and overlooks the whole of the barn kitchen and living room area.
The floor plan consists of a toilet, large walk in shower with a sink. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a dual fuel range cooker, American Double Door Fridge Freezer with water and ice, built in dishwasher, coffee machine and a sink.
Outside is a private courtyard area with a raised decking mezzanine with a built in wood fired hot tub, perfect for star gazing in the evenings.

Guest access
The Lodge sits in an abundance of surrounding fields and carp lakes available to the guest to explore and enjoy. The carp lakes are a moments walk across the field from The Lodge and make great for fishing or a picnic area.
Parking is shared with the farm house and other Farm stays ' The Stable' & 'The Grange' on the property.
Other things to note
WIFI on the farm..
Being in a rural spot of Sussex, we do not have the best wifi speed compared to other parts of the country, we encounter storms from time to time which can knock / weigh down on the internet lines provided by BT, this can cause the Wifi to be un-operational or slow. However we have invested in a private internet satellite dish to help boost our wifi speeds which has improved for our guests.
Our other farm stays - on the farm we do have other farm stays available to our guests, we ask that you be respectful and mindful of noise and other guests when staying with us on the farm. We like to have a very calm relaxing environment for everyone to enjoy, if you are looking to come away to party and consume large amounts of alcohol then this farm stay is not for you. We do not accept parties or Stag / Hen doo's
