A 5 min. walk from the Archeological Museum and 30 from Acropolis in one of the most artistic and interesting neighborhoods, this 25m2 flat with its private balcony and all the amenities of a contemporary flat, can be your dreamplace. Its garden makes one easily forget that my place is situated at the very center of a vibrant city, seeming more like like a hidden paradise. Not exactly a house, but rather a home for your stay. :)

The space
Cosy 20m2 studio in the city-centre surrounded by a bright and leafy yard. The studio is quiet as it is a fair distance away from the road and is located at the foot of Strefi Hill, where one can go for an evening stroll. It has its own separate entrance, independent from the rest of the house, as well as its own bathroom and small kitchen. Situated in the neighbourhood of Exarchia, it is only a 10min walk away from Panepistimio or Omonoia metro (tube) stations, and provides easy access to other means of public transportation (buses, trolleys, tram etc.). The major archaeological sites are within walking distance too. For instance the archaeological museum is just five blocks away, and the Acropolis with its new museum is within 30mins walking distance. Monastiraki square and Plaka (the old town) are just a 20min walk away, and Psyri and Keramikos square, where the heart of Athens nightlife is located, are either a 15min walk, or a metro station away respectively. Ideal for couples who want to explore the diverse centre of the city, as well as students attending seminars or professionals on business trips. The room can accommodate up to three people, or a family with one child. The house, built in 1920 just after the First World War, is steeped in history. On the trunk of the palm tree which stands in the yard, you can still see the marks left by the bullets from the street fights in Athens during the Greek civil war in 1946. In the 80’s and 90’s the house was one of the most (some claim the most) famous rock-bars of the city, with many local and international rock-stars including Nick Cave having performed on its stage. Its yard, separated into different levels, is a cool and welcome oasis of plants and trees, giving the impression that you are somewhere far away from the noisy and crowded centre of a big city. It is perfect for enjoying your breakfast, lunch, or an al fresco glass of wine, or just relaxing and unwinding after a tiring day of sightseeing.

Guest access
Easy access from the airport, port or train station by metro. And then approx. a 12 minute walk from Panepistimio metro station (red line).

Location

Athens, Greece

The neighbourhood of Exarchia is like a village in the centre of a big city. After a while you can see people you recognise. The area has an important role in the modern history of Greece, due to the great riot of the17th of November in 1973 against the Junta, which took place in the Polytechnic University.
Nowdays Exarchia is a neighbourhood that attracts a lot of young people and students because of the alternative night life and the million different options that it provides for going out. From cafés open all day (from the morning for you to enjoy breakfast, right up to the late evening) to restaurants, tavernas and grill-houses open from noon till late at night, and bars, many al fresco and open till the early hours.
It’s a neighborhood that never sleeps.

I like to share with guests from all over the world well maintained appartments in Athens as well as in whole Greece for every budget and taste and with my valuable co workers provide the info you may need for a tailor made experience out of our multifarious city or country depending your interests and mood. If I have to say something about myself, I'm an easy going person who loves music that makes good to his ears and reading books which can make good to his mind and spirit, while a nice basketball game is always something I can't refuse to watch or participate. Air bnb allowed me to meet people from all over the world, which is nice as I feel I'm traveling inside my own city through their experiences and provide me a glimpse may be of their own places. When I travel, I love wondering around aimlessly and discover places, people and experiences without a detailed plan, but also I'm searching for things I have heard of and museums or bars which interesting me. It would be our pleasure to host you at one of the places I administrate with our team (straycats) and help you to have a unique experience out of Greece. Please don't hesitate to contact us and hope to see you in Athens soon. :)
