Check our social media page 'Full Gallop Farm Stay' with comments/pics from past guests. You will love it!
This is an ideal place to reconnect with the things that really matter in life. If you appreciate being comfortable but love the outdoors, and if you love animals and nature but want to be in striking distance of a safe, historic city then this is a perfect choice.
The Stable is really a very comfortable room at one end of the main farm house with it's own entry. You will sleep in a luxuriously comfortable, queen sized, four poster bed. You have a very pretty, private bathroom, just along the passage a few steps, with shower and corner bath and next door to that is a shared toilet.
A small nook in the room houses a fridge, sandwich maker, kettle, coffee plunger and toaster, and can be closed away out of sight. We provide a breakfast basket on arrival, with bread for toast, fruit toast, fruit in season, homemade marmalade and jam, cornflakes, milk and tea and coffee. If you want a refill for the rest of your stay, just ask.
Many of our guests tend to visit nearby pubs, cafes and restaurants for their main meals however there is a dining area in the room and guests are welcome to use the dining/sitting room in the main farm house by arrangement.
Wifi is available and usually good as we are on the NBN but it can be temperamental. If it works better nearer to the modem ... in the kitchen ... you are welcome to use your devise there.
Your mobile will not work well at the farm ... part of being in the country!
If this space is not available for the dates you want we have two other lovely areas available to book so plus ask: https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/2234437?preview_for_ml
You are welcome to roam over the 15 acres of farm, into the organic blueberry bushes and up to either of the two dams where you will often see ducks and chickens. If you want, our dogs will love to follow you and appreciate a stick or ball being thrown into the water .. watch out when they shake the water off though! Our horses are very friendly, especially the ex race horse, Charm, who loves a pat. All of the horses are especially trained as therapy horses to help people dealing with the stresses of everyday life .. for more information see (URL HIDDEN)
Interaction with guests
As much or as little as you like. We love having guests and also appreciate how valuable it is to have the time alone to connect with each other or the environment. Please let us know your preference. Also let us know if you prefer the dogs to leave you alone. They are very friendly but also very respectful as are the horses. We can't promise to be able to keep the ducks and chickens away if you decide to feed them though .. friends for life .. or at least for the duration of your trip!
Other things to note
We have some amazing walks, either on the nearby beaches, on the cliff tops or in the countryside around us. We are half way between the beach and the Huon Valley and a very easy driving to Hobart. The the ferry to Bruny Island is a picturesque 15 minute drive.
Allens Rivulet has an almost mythical reputation for it's ability to restore health, vitality and well being. I often have people come to the farm to spend time in the blueberries for this very thing. We really do have a special little micro-climate that seems to have a positive health benefit.
I am not not one for rules in general but I would ask that you leave gates as you find them. If you want to smoke please do so in the beautiful open air. Please assist us to respect the environment by using energy and our crystal clean water as wisely as possible.

I really like people and love finding ways that I can help them to enjoy their holiday to the max. I travel regularly myself to the USA and Europe and enjoy meeting all sorts of people from all sorts of places ... the people you meet on your holiday can really make it extra special. I work as a traditional or equine assisted counsellor ... helping people to reach their optimum level of happiness. I like to spend as much time as possible outside in the open air surrounded by a variety of seemingly perpetually hungry creatures!. My property is very peaceful and restorative and it is a pleasure to share this with anyone coming to stay ... I hesitate to call them guests because so many will become friends. Check out the EAGALA website if you want to know more about my certified therapy horses.
