About this listing

Completely remodeled as of Jan. 2016. We fell in love with Whistler and we wanted a place right next to the restaurants, shops, and lifts. We are located just across the street from the IGA Market, Olympic Plaza, and the Village Stroll.

Description

The space

*Our place has just been fully remodeled as of Jan. 2016. It is a cozy 1160 sq. feet or 108 square meters.

*It comes with 1 reserved parking spot. There is guest parking for a second car in all spaces that are not marked "Reserved." There is a height restriction in the underground parking. Minivans and SUVs are fine, but not huge trucks or campers.

*Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook wonderful meals.

*We have 1 master bedroom with a king bed and attached bath. There is a private hot tub on the balcony with beautiful Blackcomb mountain views.

* Second bedroom has a queen bed and a balcony with mountain views.

*Third bedroom has a bunk bed with one full size bed and one twin bed on top. (125 pound or 57 kg limit for the top bunk)

*The second bathroom is in the hallway near the second and third bedrooms.

*There is a half bath in the downstairs living area.

*We have a boot warmer and a place to hang skis in the entryway.

Guest access

You will be able to use the entire condo and our private hot tub. There is a courtyard in the complex with a charming "mini" lagoon. You will be able to use the owner's parking garage and the owner's bike storage facilities.

Interaction with guests

I am a teacher, so it can be hard to reach me on the weekdays from 8:30AM to 3:30PM. It is best to email me with your dates. You can also call me after school hours or on the weekends. (Pacific standard time. Los Angeles, California)

The neighbourhood

We are just across the street from the Village. It is a 1-2 minute walk to the IGA Market, Starbucks, Horten's, shops, restaurants, Olympic Plaza/Children's play area, and a 7-10 minute walk to the lifts. There is a free winter bus shuttle (Bus #4: Runs approximately from Nov. 20- April 15) directly across the street that can take you to the lifts. It comes every 10 minutes and is the easiest way to get to and from the lifts. Our unit is at the Marketplace bus stop.)

Getting around

The bus from Vancouver airport drops you off at the Tourist Information Center which is about a 7 minute walk from our place or about 300-400 meters. (You can pay an extra fee to the bus company to get drop off right at our unit, but it is only worth it if you have a lot of luggage.)

There is also whistler It is a smaller bus that will drop off/pick up directly in front of our complex. It, however, does not have wifi and is not as nice of a ride as the airport bus, but it guarantees that you have to wait no more than 1 hour after your plane arrival. (The airport bus leaves on a set schedule every 3 hours.)

Once you are in the village, you do not need a car. Whistler is a very walkable town and there are buses that can take you around the area. There is also a taxi service.

Other things to note

This unit is a multi-level unit with stairs. We have a pack and play for small children to sleep in and baby gates for the stairwells.

Garbage room is in the parking garage. You will need the garage access keycard to get in.

In case of electrical outage, please check the circuit breaker box in the bunkbed room.

*Our place is not a party house. We only want guests who will take care of our place and be considerate neighbors to the others in the complex. Quiet hours are from 10:00PM to 8:00AM. ($200 fines if official notice is given by strata for excessive noise.)

*Must be 25 years or older to book our place. Children are welcomed, but they must be accompanied by their parents.

*No smoking allowed in the unit or complex. (Possible strata fines.)

*No pets allowed.

*$600 Security deposit is not negotiable.

Great location close to the hustle of the village yet still quiet. Directly across street from an iga market and ski shuttle stop. The rental looks just like the photos and is well stocked with anything you need. The private hot tub has great views of blackcomb and was an added surprise. Overall, great experience and my family would happily return.

We stayed here for 8 nights and loved every minute of it. The unit is beautiful and perfectly equipped. With the fireplace, lovely furniture, and open layout, things couldn't be cozier. We loved the location- wonderful restaurants (our favorite in whistler) literally right across the street, as well as great shopping. The convenience of having the grocery store across the street should not be overlooked either. For access to the slopes, the bus is right across the street. Since we skied for 5 days, we got a locker at the gondola for our gear and simply walked each morning. It's approx 5 minutes to the base of the gondolas. Checking in and out is a breeze and Sherry was completely responsive and accommodating. We plan to come back here and would look no farther than this condo. Can't imagine a better spot for a better value in the heart of Whistler.

We stayed at Sherry's place in mid March. We loved the location, right across from a free shuttle stop to the lifts and just steps to restaurants and the Marketplace in the main Village. The open floor plan downstairs was perfect for our extended family of 5 adults and 2 kids. We enjoyed the private hot tub every night after skiing.

Sherry's place was perfect for us. We had four adults living there and the space was great. As you walk in, the mudroom is super practical to leave your ski boots, jackets, etc. The living area is very cozy and feels like home. The kitchen is a good size with ample plates and glasses. The master bedroom is quite large with an ensuite bathroom and heated floors, which is a bonus. The location is great! Close enough to the village, but not right in the middle of it all. It's an easy 5-10 minute walk or the bus stops literally right outside the condo. Definitely recommend Sherry's place and she is super helpful and responsive.

I'm a first grade teacher living in Southern California. I grew up in California, but have lived in Japan and Norway. Lars, my husband, is a business consultant. He grew up on a wheat/potato farm in Norway and went to study abroad in the US in 1986. We've been together ever since!

We love to travel, ski, read, hike, and eat. Our girls are all grown up and we are happy empty nesters.
