My husband David and I have lived in Darwin for 15 years. We both grew up in a small seaside town off the Great Ocean Road - Port Fairy, Victoria. Our favourite holiday destination is Bali. As it is only a 1.5 hour flight from Darwin we have, until now been fortunate to be able to visit several times a year. We have many friends there now and our children are learning Indonesian / Bahasa at our local Language school. We have traveled a small part of Europe as a couple. As a family in 2018 we spent 3 weeks driving France from Paris to Nice with our 2 young daughters. We have visited Tokyo and Kyoto on the recommendation of one of our lovely Airbnb guests. In January 2020, after spending Christmas in Bali, we travelled to America for a 3 weeks driving holiday. Taking in the amazing sites of Route 66 from LA and finishing our trip in San Antonio. We returned to Darwin via Bali in late January, unaware that would be the end of all overseas travel for what may be, a very long time. During the Dry season we go camping as much as we can. The last few years we have enjoyed exploring this great country. Driving and camping through The Kimberly, tackling The Gibb River Road, Tanami Track and travelling 5,000kms through the Simpson Desert, it is fantastic fun!! In the last 12 months we have made the most of exploring the NT, visiting different parts of the Tiwi Islands and parks around the top end. A nice thing about Darwin is it often feels like a holiday in your own backyard. We hope all our guest feel as relaxed and enjoy it as much as we do.
