We had a wonderful visit with Laurent this past weekend. Laurent truly went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, show us the local attractions and make sure we had everything we needed. He has connections all over the area and great recommendations for local wine, cuisine, and adventure. The apartment is nestled atop quaint stone building built in 1644 and renovated for modern creature comforts. From the bedroom there is a wonderful view of the mountain peaks and the city bell tower, less than a block away, audibly marks the half hour. The apartment opens onto a quiet courtyard which enters directly into the city center where cafes and shopping abound. If you have a tiny car (we drive a VW UP!) you can park at the foot of the stairs to the apartment, though the squeeze is quite tight. There is parking nearby fit larger vehicles. The kitchen is well stocked (utensils and dishes), the bed is comfortable, and the couch is cozy.
Laurent showed us around, facilitated cheaper ski rentals than anywhere in the area, showed us his favourite breakfast and dinner spots, pointed out a spa right up the street, and told us about adventure sports in the area. I fully intend to return and stay again in the future. He has two adjacent apartments and a third downstairs which make large groups easy. There is truly no better way to see the vast splendor of the Italian alps.
