The space

Come to our secluded place at the end of the road and enjoy all that nature has to birding and kayaking....excellent stargazing....guaranteed to restore your soul.

Cozy lakeside cabin..Equipped kitchenette..Full bath..Deck with gorgeous view.. Outstanding grounds! Hiking, fishing, kayaking, and sailing...Experience the call of the loons...Perfect for artists and writers....Peaceful delight....

Perched on the hillside with views of the lake, this cabin has everything you need for a night ...or a week away! Open plan living in this self-catering cabin, the queen sized double bed is in the main room and two singles are in the glassed in front porch - it is big enough for the parents and two kiddos. Kitchen area (with 2 burners, counter space, grill outside, and two dorm sized fridges) is big enough to make your meals so you don't have to leave this paradise.

Most of the crystal clear pond is surrounded by land owned by local water companies - making for very little lake traffic. When you are sitting on the dock it is nearly impossible to see another home. Yet, adventurous ones may try out the kayak ( 1 adult, 2 small ones), sunfish, or rowboat that's available and see what's on the other end of the lake! You will be hearing the loons.

Bring your binoculars! Eagles, herons, ospreys might be seen. But most of all here at Harmony- as we call it - there is peace. We live in the adjacent log lodge with wraparound veranda. One may see it in the last picture.

Farmington is a quaint college town 6 miles away. It is located in the foothills of the western mountains, and is a 1.5 hour easy drive from Portland. It has a small downtown with restaurants and unique shops, plus a Hannaford and Walmart nearby as well as a movie theater.

If you are arriving late in the day, we advise you to grocery shop first. The last 2 miles of public road to our place is bumpy and an extreme sport in itself. Some improvement made in 2017...(After a day or two, you sort of get used to it.) You can pick up groceries at Hannaford's (west on Rt. 2) or the smaller, unique Tranten's located on Main St. in town.

This was the perfect little getaway that we needed! Time to reflect and rejuvenate! Sitting on the dock, listening to the loons and the water gently hitting the shore was the most peaceful, relaxing sound! And a visit from the blue heron a couple times! Awesome! Beautiful area to…

Catherine and John were a pleasure to interact with, and their property is beautiful. We enjoyed swimming in the pond, grilling each evening, and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit! Highly recommended. We'd love to return.

This a delightful simple cabin in a quiet location. We enjoyed kayaking and sailing, campfires and nearby hikes. Everything is as described and Cathy and John are very welcoming and helpful but happy to respect your privacy.

We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was just as described (bed was very comfortable) and we enjoyed swimming, kayaking, taking the row boat out, sitting on the dock reading, and grilling. The microwave and toaster oven were a nice bonus! We also hiked Tumbledown Mountain one day …

This cottage is a great relaxing getaway. Kayaking in the lake is a great activity and BBQs are a must. We would recommend bringing games and a good book to make sure you make the most of the relaxing environment and Katie (the dog is very friendly). Remember to bring bug spray.

Everything was even better than described, and we absolutely loved our 5 night stay. Catherine and John were both very nice and welcoming. We found a guestbook in the cabin dating back to the 60's for different places they have rented out. If we come back to the area we will most…

We are retired and enjoy being at the lake. Hobbies are woodworking, gardening, reading and knitting. We have also enjoyed hosting foreign students and housesitting for others. We are pretty laid back hosts, and enjoy sharing our place with guests, family, and friends.
