Nestled in the heart of Nelson, Cedar Suite is a relaxed, urban oasis with Onsen style, saltwater, heated pool...like having your very own hotsprings to float in. The suite is surrounded by gardens and mountain views, yet a 5 min walk to restaurants, bars, galleries, shops and theaters. It's ideal for a couple or solo traveler looking for a Nelson get away or any Kootenay adventure that awaits. The lake and mountain trails are within walking distance. Nordic or downhill skiing 5-20 min drive.

The space
The home was built in the 30's but the suite is newly renovated with old world charm and Japandi elements. It is a self contained, private, suite with a private entrance. The custom bed has a comfortable, new endy mattress with cotton sheets, organic cotton waffle duvet and robes to wrap up in. Imported tiles and local cedar were brought in for the luxurious bathroom with large walk in shower, complete with cotton bath linens as well as organic toiletries.

In the Spring, the pool is heated but in the hot summer months, the salt water pool is refreshingly cool and an excellent place to float or lounge around.
In winter months, it switches to a Japanese Onsen and open year round, heated to around 100 degrees which allows for long soaks where you can just relax and float in dreamy tranquility. The 'Onsen' is especially recommended après-ski, sunset, during the rain or big snowfall.

The living space has comfortable furniture to relax on while catching up on some reading or connect over some board games on hand.

The kitchenette is set up to brew a variety of teas or local No.6 coffee provided, using a French press or Hario pour over. The toaster oven is great for toasting, warming or reheating and there is a small fridge with freezer.

Enjoy sitting on the patio next to a Japanese garden overlooking the mountains as you sip your favorite beverage while the sunset unfolds.

Guest access
The patio with lounge chairs at end of pool are shared and the patio by the side entrance of the main house is for our own use. The patio, chairs and umbrella in front of the suite are all yours and have use of the back yard.

Feel free to use any herbs, berries and vegetables from the garden during your stay in summertime.
