Located in the heart of the Bywater within walking distance of the French Quarter & the Marigny (Frenchmen Street). Beautiful old home with original wood floors, high ceilings in a good neighborhood close to art galleries, restaurants, wine bars.....

Guest access

There is a long side yard on the rental side but there is also a back yard & on our side yard we have a table & chairs under the covered carport for company's use. Great for sitting out with some cheese & a glass of wine.

Dia and Tony are wonderful hosts and offer a super clean, and really comfortable house in a great location. Dia always got back to me right away when I reached out with questions and was extra hospitable and helpful in making our stay with them really great.

Loved how the hosts were reachable if we ever needed anything. They also provided little things like snacks and a few toiletries. Loved our stay, I recommend!!

Royal Sunshine was a beautiful, comfortable, very well-equipped home away from home while we were in New Orleans. The neighborhood was charming, walkable, and within a mile and a half of the French Quarter. We walked there easily during our stay. The home itself was lovely, clean, and well-equipped. We cooked several meals at home and found all the utensils, cookware, etc we needed right in the kitchen. In the bathroom there were plenty of bath towels and a washer/dryer right in the house. Dia and Tony were great hosts. The door is locked and opened with a customized code, so we were able to get in immediately upon arrival, although Dia did spot me bringing my bag in from the street and met me as I came in. She also provided great suggestions about the neighborhood and activities in the area. We would definitely return to Royal Sunshine.

Lovely home and space. Very clean and inviting. We figured out where my friends and I were going to stay and perused the binder of information. Lots of pertinent information available--local bars, restaurants, markets. We walked to Bacchanal (super close) and saw other spots in the neighborhood that looked interesting. Great water pressure and heat. I would suggest picking up a couple wine openers to have available at the house. We managed to open one bottle, easily, with the shoe method but struggled with the second bottle. I think we used scissors to try that one. After exploring more of the city, I look back and realized how wonderful the Bywater is. It is an eclectic fun mix of restaurants, bars and people. I am thankful to have found Dia and Tony's house.

My husband Tony & I are both natives of New Orleans. We moved to the Bywater because we wanted to live in a neighborhood that was close enough for us to enjoy the French Quarter & the Marigny, yet still allowed us to park in front of our home. We love the colorful historic homes , the beautiful Crescent Park and all the neighborhood bars & restaurants that keep popping up. We love people, entertaining and sharing our city with you.
