Rustic wooden cabin, handmade, with terrace and a beautiful view and inside the property's forest.

It looks like a tree house with rudimentary basic services, enough for a weekend like camping, but in a cabin with hot water, a bed and a place to cook.

It's a good idea to bring a flashlight and a lighter, and boots instead of dress shoes or heels.

If you don't like camping, it's not the place for you, you better not come.

The space
Cozy wood cabin, with a fire place outside and a terrace to the forest garden.

You will find your self in a farm environment, surrounded by lots of different trees, birds and fabulous volcanic rock formations.

You have an independent entrance, so you may come and goo freely; the main house is a walk away if you need any assitance.

Make sure it will make the best out of your getaway.

Our toilet, is designed to work with no use of water; it is commonly referred to as: composting toilet.

Guest access
The cabin is your very own private space.

You may visit the farm around but remember I live here and appreciate silence, particularly at night.

Sometimes, but not often at all, I will have friends come and share around a good fire, have some wine, cold beer, food direct from the grill, play music and just relax, chill out and have great arguments about what ever, mostly great laughs and happiness; you are absolutely welcomed to these gatherings.

Other things to note
I ask guests to please take their non organic waste back with them when leaving.

At the farm, you may hear the church in town, fireworks going off or a party with loud music (which is not an everyday thing, but mostly during holiday, any holiday, during holidays, it is something you should expect; and dogs barking or howling around the neighborhood at night or sometimes early at dawn or my neighbor using his power saw.

This is the way Mexico is, you will listen to fireworks and church predication everywhere.

Dogs; in Mexico, we have a stray dog overpopulation problem.

I have 3 dogs, they roam free around the property, are very friendly and like to be in company of guests, so they will be around

They do understand indications, so please feel free to order them to leave.

Please do not let them in to the cabin or feed them anything, do not use food to bribe them to do anything, please.

Even with this in consideration, it is still a quiet, peaceful, nature-oriented retreat.

We are not totally isolated from light or sound contamination.

Wi -fi or cel phone signal, is not the best here in the mountain surrounded area.

Maybe there will be NO INTERNET AVAILABLE, specially during storms and strong wind condition,

The perfect time and place to "...reconect by disconecting..."

There is no cel phone signal at all.

DO NOT FOLLOW AIRBNB´S APP DIRECTIONS TO THE FARM IT WILL TAKE YOU SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR SOME STRANGE REASON THIS APP DOES NOT REGISTER THE EXCAT LOCATION OF THE FARM.
You MUST ENTER THE EXACT ADDRESS

I will send you in the directions to the farm message before your arrival to your app, there are maybe 500 + streets with the same name just in mexico city, if you enter something else the app will take to wherever you may think except the farm.

Remember we are in the country, "en el monte", meaning it is normal for bugs or "bichos" to be around, off course they usually runaway from human contact, meaning you will not have a zoo of bugs next to you (spiders, moths, worms, scorpions, bees, butterflies, stick insects, etc etc.

It is normal to have all of these in the country side.

They are totally harmless.

We do try hard to keep them away from the instalations, but remember it is us who came to place the farm in their environment. Plus, we do not like to overdo control, to the extent of not using if possible any product to get rid of them , for many reasons.

If by chance, you find any of these, regularly we use a cup and a piece of cardboard to catch them and let them loose in the garden.

Your trip could be a good chance to visit a small community in the mountains of Mexico, or the pyramid on the top mountain overseeing the town of Tepoztlan.

Tepoztlan and its unique folklore and market place with all these colorfull and tastefull meals to savor.

Get some arts and crafts on the weekend market or go to a TEMAZCAL (sweatlodge ceremony) to cleanse and get all your stress out just next doors of the farm with Angel.

There are good places to eat ranging all prices. Good places to visit. good coffee shops, and best of all, the mountain hikes and birds.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are 2 kms away from Sto Domingo Ocotitlan, one of the most beautiful views in Tepoztlan county, surrounded by fantastic magic mountains an cliffs. Lots of birds for bird watchers.

Ocotitlan is one of the best places to hike or ride an incredible zip line.

Good places to eat at the market place or restaurants in Tepoztlán. There is a pyramid to visit on top of a cliff in Tepoztlán, wiht a walk to the top worth to experience; maybe some festivity taking place at the main square, a Carnival or procesion, you will love the place. The visit to the market place makes the day. If you are into yoga, a SPA or a Temazcal (the local version of a sweat lodge) we can recommend and arrange some place for you. Tepoztlan is part of an ecological reserve and is designated as national park, so there is a great value to it, other than the tourism and folkclore inherent to the area. There are two local museums to visit that hold gold precious information on how and when in Tepoztlán, its native origins and its geological origins.

Hola! I live on my own, have been living here since 1995, the house was only to one third of completion, no electricity, or phone or even water no propane, there were no windows or doors, I recall, and I used kerosene lamps to light the night and cooked over a very very nice en eficient mud stove...nowadays I have all of that including the web! Love to listen to jazz, blues, rock, classic, balcan and some of the latin music, mostly all music with littel exceptions... My house and the cabins, were desinged and built by me with help of volunteers, dear friends and Jesús "the mason/friend" when (Website hidden by Airbnb) the way, building and repairs never end...and it is a lot of fun! All my father´s side family have been Arquitects. Learned about permaculture in 1995, trained my self and ended learning how to be a PC design coach, the farm is my very own permaculture project thesis. Love to go hiking with RAGA, UMA and recently rescued YOYO, great dogs! I Love the beach, and would like to go more often, though I spend sometimes a long time at sea working, I miss the sand, the surf and the playfull chatter of seagulls...(sigh)... I cannot live with out some freshly gooooood brewed coffe, around 10 am, and the daily news to read...or...a great fire in the chimeney or the fireplace outside, in a cold night, with some hot chocolate...or...oh, so many things to enjoy!
