Well equipped modern kitchen, opening out to sunny and private courtyard. Parking space available.
This house in Newtown is a great base for exploring Sydney. Located on a quiet street and next to a park, it is a few minutes walk from Newtown train station and the buzz of King Street, and within comfortable walking distance from Sydney University and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. With its many cafes, bars, bookshops, boutiques, and the wonderful Dendy Movie Theatre, Newtown's King Street is a very popular hub for shoppers, foodies and movie fans. If you can escape Newtown's many attractions, it is very easy to catch buses and taxis downtown or to other Sydney destinations (I recommend Coogee Beach for an early morning walk). The airport is 15-20 minutes away by car.
Despite its central city location, this beautifully furnished three-storied terrace house is private and quiet. The first floor includes a living room, bathroom, and a large kitchen cum dining room that opens through bi-fold doors onto a sunny garden courtyard. The main bathroom, laundry and two bedrooms are on the second floor. One of the bedrooms opens onto a small veranda overlooking the street, a beautiful place to sit and read or people-watch. On the third floor, the large bedroom cum study opens out to wide views to the northwest of the city.
Wireless internet is available throughout the house. The comfortably furnished living room is equipped with a digital tv, video and sound system, including an Apple TV facility. A gas fireplace keeps the house snug in winter, but it rarely gets that cold. The dining room and kitchen is spacious and well equipped, with a large Australian hardwood table and a futon couch. There is a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, large pantry, a variety of electrical appliances (rice cooker, slow cooker, food processor, bread-maker, etc.) as well as pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc.
Upstairs, the three bedrooms have comfortable queen-sized beds and wardrobe space. Two have desks; the other has an extra double-sized foldout futon. All rooms are furnished with bed linen and towels. The main bathroom has a large bath and shower, with overhead heating for the coldest winter days. A large cupboard contains the washing machine and dryer. The third floor study / bedroom is carpeted. Throughout the rest of the house, the floors are polished hardwood, with genuine Afghani carpets.
Secure parking is available outside on the street, or in the back courtyard. An automatic roller door opens out to the back lane-way.
The house can sleep up to five people and is suitable for couples, small groups or families.

I hope you enjoy my house, but please:
No noisy parties – small dinner parties and gatherings are ok but my neighbors like the quiet too,
No extra overnight guests.
No smoking inside (you can smoke outside in the courtyard or in the park)
No No No sharp-heeled shoes, which would destroy my wooden floors and carpets. I strongly prefer no shoes to be worn inside the house.
Please be careful of the paint and woodwork as you carry your bags upstairs—the stairs are fairly narrow—and do not drag them across the floors.
You are welcome to read my books but please do not remove any of them from the house or allow anyone else to borrow one, no matter how earnestly they promise to return it before your departure..
When you leave, please wash dirty dishes and glasses, or pack them in the dishwasher and turn it on.
You are welcome to use items in the pantry, but please replace what you use.
