Designed and built by me and my sons, this Tiny House Trailer overlooks the River Wreake and the grazing pastures beyond. It has a long double bunk bed with a generous single bed beneath. It has a tiny woodburner ,12 volt lighting plus phone charging point. Composting toilet just outside, plus a conventional toilet and shower 2 minutes away. Camping kitchen available 10 metres away. You are welcome to use our canoes on the river during your stay. Very basic but fun. There is now a swing seat.

The space
I have wanted to make a Tiny House for many years, in fact one of our Cabins was listed on Tiny House Swoon , but this really is a Tiny House.. We built it ourselves, based on an old trailer, and the design is totally unique, although it is inspired by the whole Tiny House movement.
It is sited on the banks of the River Wreake, where we have canoes which you can use. It has a tiny wood burning stove which not only warms the space but allows you to heat a kettle. It is totally off grid, with 12 volt lighting and a phone charger. ( in the winter I can run a mains lead across to the trailer for a fan heater; this is £5 extra per night. Just let me know if you find you need this ( especially useful first thing in the morning before the stove is going ). Amenities like Mains electricity, water, toilet, shower, WiFi etc are close by, but you are free to get "away from it all".. Just sit on the swing seat and look out over the river and the fields beyond, with beautiful Lincoln Red cattle wandering about . Take a paddle down the river, watch the kingfishers and ( occasionally) the otters. Sit round a camp fire..
Bedding is provided but I recommend sleeping bags too, especially in frosty weather. There is space to sleep 3.5 ( ie 3 adults, one child).

Guest access
You can use the canoes
You can have a camp fire or BBQ
You can borrow our bikes
You can climb up into the Treehouse ( please leave the door bolted at the bottom of the staircase so parents can decide if they want to let their children climb up)
You can use the large lawns for ball games

Other things to note
Our house is a former Victorian railway station.. you need to be aware that the trains still run, and you will hear them..

Our valley is in an Area of Particularly Attractive Countryside, with pretty little villages dotted along it. Lots of tall hedges, welcoming pubs, cattle grazing, lovely walks. We are about 2 miles from the nearest small shops, and 3 miles from the nearest supermarket.
The nearest pub is the Blue Bell in Hoby ( 1 mile), which serves excellent meals and has a lovely outdoor area looking out over the valley towards our house.
There is a great delicatessen and cafe 2 miles away in Thrussington which makes a good target for a nice long walk along by the river.
Leicester is a vibrant, happy, multi cultural city with many facets, and we can recommend some brilliant places to eat there.

Hi, we are John and Carole from Brooksby in Leicestershire in the very middle of England. We have 4 children and three grandchildren. We live by a quiet river, and love hosting visitors in our two home built cabins. We first discovered Airbnb has guests in Corfu, and have since been Airbnb guests in Paris, Turin and Hay on Wye. John runs canoe building holidays here. You may well see canoe building going on during your stay. "Seize the day" "Follow the evidence wherever it leads" "if you look for a happy person you will find them building a boat"

During your stay
One of us is generally around at the house ( a Grade 2 listed Victorian Railway station), but we will generally leave you to yourself unless you need anything
I will be encouraging you to make suggestions. All around you are examples of adaptations we have made as a result of suggestions from guests; the latest is a swing seat and small decking area at the front of the Trailer facing the river.
I speak French and German if that helps
