The space

Premasiri’s is one of the oldest places in Mirissa town. The home’s been in the family for about 80 years now and was recently renovated. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, free parking, wifi and a small garden that is frequented by the local peacocks.

Interaction with guests

Premasiri and his wife Mala are friendly 50-somethings who will be your host here. Premasiri’s worked in the Middle East and Africa for years, and now he runs his guest house, as well as his tuktuk. He can speak some English and can arrange meals, tours and transportation.

So far the cleanest guest house I have stayed in Sri Lanka. It was simple but fresh and clean. It is located on Matara road but we didnt hear noise. We were taking tuktuk for 100-150SRL to Mirissa beach or bus for 10SRL. We had a fan. We had a mosquito net in the bathroom so we keep the door always open to refresh rooms smell. I wish a mosquito net in the bed room also. I do recommend the room but not the extras. Brekfast was 700SRL which is high. Also Mr. Premasiri would ask you to give you a tour for turtles and snakes. We had done it but I do not recommend for many reasons. but if you look for a decent clean room in Mirissa, you can stay here.

Neverbeen User Profile

Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.

We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.

As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.

In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.

The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
