Go turtle watching and relax on the beach in Rekawa, using this villa as your home base. Price is per double room and there are several rooms available.
This place is big, nice and quiet. Amidst a garden full of fruit trees and anthurium plants, it has a relaxed, natural atmosphere and lots of space to hang out. There are 9 doubles and 2 single rooms, all with attached bathrooms. Guests share a big veranda, a living room, a kitchen and a big balcony upstairs.
Interaction with guests
We were warmly welcomed (in English) by Rukman, his wife and their son Thakshan, who live next to the villa in a separate house. Rukman used to supply fish to markets around the country, but since two of his three sons died in a boating accident not long ago, he decided to focus on running his guesthouse from home. A well known and much respected family, they can arrange everything for their guests, such as meals, transport and tours. Some of the nicest people you’ll meet.
Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
