The southeast’s premier outdoor country music festival takes place on the shores of Myrtle Beach in September, attracting top local and national musicians. In winters, the temperature will drop, and so will the number of visitors, but you can still expect mild days.

Myrtle Beach State Park

Myrtle Beach State Park is situated in the oceanfront maritime forest, which spans more than 300 acres. You can take a stroll along the historic fishing pier or head off on the Sculptured Oak Nature Trail, which passes through a forest of oaks and magnolias, with an abundance of birdlife and reptiles to spot along the way. There’s also a long, quiet stretch of beautiful beach in the park.

Garden City Beach

At Garden City Beach, you’ll find plenty of places to eat or catch live music in the evenings, but the vibe is decidedly laid-back, and you’ll find fewer visitors here. Colourful residences line the beach and a pier extends far out into the water, making this the perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing stroll after a day of activity.
